I am 6 weeks post surgery. Everything healed well, but I have lost my appetite. I am still not on fresh fruit and vegetables or fiberous meats, but nothing is tasting good. My appetite was fine a week ago and I was actually looking forward to the new types of food I could eat at 5 weeks, but it is gone. I can eat 2 bites of something and next time I think about eating it, it makes me nauseated. Is this the after affects of anesthesia? or is this something that you experience from the surgery? Any ideas?

thank you so much! It sounds like not very many people experience this. I am going to try to get some gatoraide, see if that helps.

I am so happy for you! I have had a couple of hiccups, but nothing that has even made me think of regret about doing this surgery. Keep it going!! Stay excited with each new pound gone!! Congrats!!

Extremely Nervous About Upcoming Sleeve Surgery On 5/21/12.
lisath replied to banksdea's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My feelings about this surgery - it is MAJOR surgery. If you are questioning your commitment to why you wanted to have this surgery - postpone it until you are committed. It is a major surgery for your body to go through. It is a very safe surgery in the hands of a skilled surgeon. The differences of how and what you eat are very stark. I was almost excited to have my surgery and had fully committed to the new way I am eating and drinking. I do not regret my decision at all - I was even self pay and decided it was so worth it to change my life for the better. Stay on the board, learn how other's are coping with their new lives, and see if you can get behind the decision you made. It will make recovery and the hardship of about the first 6 weeks much easier....knowing you are changing your life the way you want to change it. Postponing for a month might give you the excitement and commitment you need to suceed with the surgery. -
I am 4 weeks post gastric sleeve. I have followed my physicians plan and instructions and have healed, and am eating soft diet still. I am trying to get 48 fl. oz. of water each day, but am having a difficult time. I was 236 lbs. pre-surgery and have lost 21 lbs. I am experiencing low blood pressure, 96/54, which simply exhausts me. I am taking all my vitamins, and am getting 50 -50 grams of protien per day. Has any one else experienced low blood pressure and a lower heart rate? If so, how long do I expect this to go on, or is there anything I can do to about it? It is affecting my performance at work.

Not on any meds. Never have had low or high blood pressure. A friend of mine suggested dehydration also. I am trying to get more water in. Thanks!
