I'm 3 weeks post op and have come along way in my breathing since surgery. I can max out the incentive spirometer and am fine during the day... BUT I just got back from the gym and am super frustrated. I still can't take those nice deep breaths that I used to and I get real bad pain in my throat when breathing heavy. Is the pain from the hernia removal? It is frustrating when I feel like I could job so much further and my endurance was feeling good, I just couldn't take a deep breath and I couldn't get past the pain in my throat. Anyone have a similar experience, or know when it gets better? I just want to run!! I'm sick of walking!

Welcome, Congrats, and Goodluck! It's a great feeling to get the approval! The pre-op diet gets easier around day 3-4!

~ I stalled for a week at 2.5 weeks post op ~ I will back up the never trust a fart! lol I cheated, did I do damage? ~ I'm not sure, but if you can't make it a few weeks without following directions you probably will set yourself up for other slips I'm not getting my Protein is that ok? ~ Learn to love (choke down) shakes/Isopures, it's your energy and fuel I'm not getting my liquids in is that ok? ~ Only if you want a dehydration trip to the ER I know there was sarcastic comments in there but seriously, it is 4 or so weeks of liquids and a couple more of purees then your back to food. Just try your absolute best to do everything your doctor says in the beginning stages, it's for your quickest recovery. I worked really hard at walking and sipping even though I didn't want to! I literally had my mom put my shoes on and start yelling at me while I was out cold sleeping because it had been 2 hrs and we needed to go walk! I told her to do this because I was told the more you walk the better you feel and quicker you recover. I have had an awesome very quick recovery with zero complications and I followed the orders to the letter.

I Think I Found My Transfer Addiction....

Not gonna lie, I secretly enjoyed it! It will definitely become part of a routine now! It's such a weird feeling to me of actually pampering and caring about yourself as weird as that sounds. But when I was over weight and unhappy all I wanted to do was get through my day and go home and wasn't overly concerned with the little appearance things. -
I'm in puree and I still have 2-3 shakes per day. I do my best to get as much protein in as possible with food but I agree, there's no way to get 60g from just puree. But my nut says to have a few shakes per day.

This thing worked great today. I added 1 scoop of unflavored to each compartment and also added a different flavor crystal light to each. Made 3 totally different shakes extremely easily at work today.

A Kind Of Bubbly Feeling?
Donny replied to mendymayhem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Puréed foods do that to me too. I just eat slow and make sure to measure portions. I also use a gas-x strip as soon as I'm done with a meal or shake. -
Tips And Tricks On Getting Through The Holidays
Donny replied to 4ALongerLife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will still be on puree for Thanksgiving and i figure i usually mix my turkey and mashed potato's & gravy on my plate but this year i am literally going to mix it! I told my parents we were either having an immediate family only Thanksgiving or I wasn't going because I'm not telling everyone I had surgery and they were totally cool with it! They even offered to do it at our vacation home so were not tempted by anyone wanting to come over or have us over to their place. I'm so happy I have a supportive family! -

Donny replied to Holly5.3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm feeling amazing! 10/22 was the big day and everyday since has been amazing! I'm not suffering much from head hunger. No problems or pains. Water is going down easy and the weight/inches are falling off! This is the best thing I could have done for myself! I'm sooooo happy! I feel like a new person. Now if only I could get to the purée stage!!!! Plus the money I'm saving on not eating fast food twice a day is awesome lol -

Should Wls Be Performed At An Early Age?
Donny replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have wanted to have a surgery for awhile but wanted to wait until I felt I matured more and left the college lifestyle. I had it done 2 weeks ago and am 26. I think it all depends where you are emotionally and mentally. -
Does anyone have issues with gum? I got sugar free and followed all the rules, but it makes my stomach feel weird and gassy. But I need a way to combat ketosis/protein shake breath at work. I also bought a big pack of whisps to give a try. Any suggestions or tips???

From amazon you can buy small packs of Isopure. I only buy Isopure powders and I have Dutch chocolate, vanilla, banana, and unflavored. I also buy PB2. I LOVE choc peanut butter and choc banana shakes! I also bought SF syrups. In the am I make a cup of coffee and stir in vanilla powder and Carmel syrup. -
Congrats! Make sure to walk as much as you can! Welcome to the other side!

First and foremost, I'm going back to work 14 days post-op COMPLETELY pain/soreness free! Second, when I was getting dressed this morning I put on a shirt that I haven't been able to wear in 2 years, my pants feel like MC Hammers parachute pants, and my belt that had several notches left 2 weeks ago doesn't fit anymore! I LOVE THIS SURGERY!!!!!! (Now if only I could figure out how to stay this energized all day lol)

I bought a 4oz measuring cup from Walmart and know I need to finish 1 per hour minimum

Sounds like were on the exact same plan! I was sleeved 10/22 also! I have 2 weeks of puree only starting next Monday, then soft food only until 3 months.
