Hello, everyone. Hope everyone is doing great with their pre and post surgery. I usually dont post too much on here, but you all are so helpful. I am scheduled to have surgery on Sept 6. I am so ready to start this process.
I am writing this topic to ask you all to help me with a contest that I entered my kids into. If you have a Facebook account you can vote and it only takes a few seconds.
Please vote for my children to win a one night stay at our local Great Wolf Lodge and tickets to an amusement park. I really want to something fun with my babies before I get my surgery done and an down for a while. We really appreciate it if you would go on there and vote for our picture. Directions are tricky for some so read below:
Click Vote, then a pop up will come up, then click log in with FB. Thanks so so much for those who take a few seconds to vote. This could be a memory that my children will cherish forever!!!!!
THANK YOU!!

My appt was no big deal at all

My surgeon told me that the lap band is not the best option anymore. He also said that he takes more lap bands out then he puts in. He is all for the sleeve and gave so many reasons for it.

Good luck to you!

Have a question for all you post op's. My surgery is scheduled for aug 7! Yay! Anyways. Everyone on the pre op forums talks about food funerals and how they want to clear out their homes of all bad foods.
My question is. Once you have the surgery do you crave foods? Will I be hungry all the time and be thinking of foods I can't have? I know they cut the part of your stomach that tells your body you are hungry. But I still wondered about craving foods we cannot have. I have a family of five so it would be hard to clear out the uouse of foods that cause temptations. Thanks! And congrats to all you post op's!

Was wondering how long your entire process was from the day you decided to have the sleeve surgery ? I know it varies with everyone but I wanted to see what others are going through.
I went to my seminar on may 7. My first appt with the surgeon is tomorrow may 18.
Thanks in advance !

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself since I am reading all of the posts on here. I am still in the early beginning stages of this whole process. I already attended a seminar and my first appt with the surgeon is tomorrow, Friday 18 th. I am so ready to get this process started. My step mother had the sleeve done almost a year ago and the results are amazing.
A little about myself, I am 28. I am a wife and a mother to 3 kids, ages 6, 4, 1. I have been overweight my whole life. Today I am 265, which is 10 lbs higher than my heaviest pregnancy. My bmi is over 43 which as you know is horrific. I am to get my weight under control. I want to be active for my children. I want to feel good about myself and be proud of who I am.
I hope that this entire process doesn't take forever but I am glad I have gotten started. I know I still have to go over the insurance requirements and see a nutritionist and psychologist. Other than that I am not sure but I am sure I will learn more from the surgeon tomorrow. Wish me luck! And thank you for all the useful posts! I love reading everyone's journey !
