bandalyons83 replied to QueenBee41's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear you are dealing with kidney stones i got one at 2-3 months post op. it was so painful. I was told that a drastic diet or change in diet can cause stones. I hope you are not too uncomfortable and pass the others without too much pain. Sorry I can offer more help I just sympathize with you... -
Today I am 4 1/2 month post op. The past month has been a struggle but I have finally reached two of my goals. I am at 75 lbs. lost and I broke the 200's and now I am in wonderland! I haven't been here since 10 th grade! My stats: Pre op : 270 Today: 195 Current pic was taken at 203 but I didn't want to get dressed today to take another! We are expecting 6+ inches of snow today...blah.

4 1/2 months post op...pics
bandalyons83 replied to bandalyons83's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
No I have not consistently lost it. I have stalled out so many times. The past month I was stuck at 208-203 and then finally I started working out more and eating better and I finally started dropping again. I had almost lost hope. I go weeks with only loosing a few lbs then I drop a few in a couple days. Don't loose hope at any point because it will eventually fall off. I had to make some changes though to jump start the weight loss again. Good luck to you. -
I got kidney stones 3 months post op and was given them. They told me it was just right after surgery but then my book from the doctor says forever. Sorry I am not much help. I was confused about this too.

15 weeks post op and stalled 5 weeks w/pics
bandalyons83 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my VSG surgery on Nov 6th, 2012. ( 15 wks post op) Counting pre op I have lost a total of 60 lbs, 20 of that before surgery. For the past 4-5 weeks I haven't lost a pound and I actually keep fluctuating a few lbs. So far on my journey I haven't had much difficulty, except for the 3 week stall at 3 weeks out. I can eat pretty much anything I want and I was still able to loose. I am looking for suggestions to start really working on jump starting my weight loss again and start focusing more on myself. I have started to exercise a few times a week and I am trying to drink more water. Any suggestions would be appreciated. -

Thanks everyone. I am very proud of what I have lost so far. I am just looking for tips to help me break this stall. I have been at this same weight for over a month now. It is just frustrating. Thanks for all the kind comments. -

I take OTC melatonin every night to get a good nights sleep. I love it because it is all natural and I wake up feeling great. -

I felt the same way as you till about 2 full months post op. now I am almost 2 1/2 and very happy. Weight loss is slow but it is no longer a burden. I hope you also have that moment where everything changes and you feel happy about your decision. -

Sleeve Then Flu Now Struggling.

So I have my sleeve done on Nov 6th. I was doing great till this past Monday when I got the flu. Ever since I had that I am unable to eat. Anything I put in my mouth tastes discussing and I feel like I am going to throw up. I went like 4 days without anything but fluids. Now I am struggling. I am so weak and can't hardly function. Any suggestions on what I should do to get back to normal? -

My diet is soft foods. Problem is I can't even stand to drink protein shakes or anything. With the first sip I feel like I am going to get sick. It sucks. I was doing so well before and now I am so weak and not able to hardly get through the day. It is a real struggle. -

I got cut off. But I wanted to say that I have been drinking all day and tried to eat turkey for two meals today and was able to keep it down. I just wish I would get back to where I was before I got the flu. -
I had my surgery at Miami valley with Dr Teel on Nov 6th. Feel free to message me! Hope to hear from you.

Everywhere I Look....
bandalyons83 replied to Jay N's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 11 days out and I feel that way too. But I have to keep reminding myself that I will be able to have anything in moderation in a few months. Luckily my step mom had it done a year ago so I can look at her and see that everything will be ok. -
For those of you who were glued at their incision sites. How long did the steri strips stay on? I am so ready for mine to come off! They are about half way now but very annoying. I am a week and 1 day post op.
-
I am pretty sure this is going to sound weird but I have to ask. The past few nights I wake up after about three hours sleep and I am wide awake. Once I wake up I can't seem to fall back asleep because my arms feel weak. For some reason I have to roll my wrists every minute or so. I know it sounds crazy but it won't let me fall back to sleep. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
-
I was sleeved on nov 6th. So I am one week 2 days out. I do feel a slight weakness in my arms during the day too. But it is bad at night. Keeps me awake. Last night I finally took some pain meds and some melatonin and was finally able to fall asleep.
-
Soon after I posted this I went to change into my pajamas and one of my steri strips got stuck ad ripped off. Ouch! The incision looks ok though. The others are starting to stick to my clothes too.
