    Lapband update

Congrats in your baby and your weightloss too, you've done amazingly well.
  3. Ty for sharing and what a difference, you're very pretty. I prepared some photos today just have to find the courage to post then too.
  4. When my mum has a reaction to medications she gets the numbing of the tongue, seeing as you've been on antibiotics for a while you might want to query it with your doctor. Also if you have weird taste check you haven't developed thrush because if the antibiotics.
  5. Honk and Tracey could be right too. Just your description is what it's like for me being in greenzone. I'm rarely hungry nowadays but do experience slight hunger at meal times which goes away very quickly and there are some days I feel no hunger at all and just looking at food turns me of, no interest. I guess the next few days or week will reveal if you're actually coming down with something or really are in the greenzone.
  6. If you are not happy with her and yes she sounds like she came across as unprofessional and rude ask to see someone else you're comfortable with, this is extremely important as you need the appropriate aftercare to succeed. She was seeing you at that time and not others and should NOT have been comparing you to others. Her job was to listen to you and if there was something you were doing wrong then help you figure it out in a professional way. She needs to understand even though we are all on the same journey we are all individuals and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. When I've gone in to see my fill person regardless if I've lost 100 grams that week or two kilos she always is positive and her questioning and my answers and my progress determine if I need a fill or not. I remember when I had to get my second fill I had to see someone else as the first person I saw was on holidays, I felt so uncomfortable with that persons mannerism I made sure every appointment after that was with my first fill person who I absolutely adore and feel comfortable with. Does that woman not also realise that stressing someone out can affect the band. Without you she has no job, she is paid to provide a professional service, you employ her not the other way around. Please don't let her discourage you, just ask for someone else to do your fills. Someone you are comfortable with.

    Sliming led to Band unfill

I've had sliming happen with stuck episodes even pbing and once it passed was fine, the sliming is the bodies response to help push the stuck food through. Certainly taught me to take smaller bites and not eat in a hurry.

    Dont wanna eat

As the others have said totally normal but you must get as much liquid into you as you can to stay hydrated, I remember my first week I was only having about two cups of broth a day but I did sip on water all day, took a few weeks to get a full @8 glasses of water a day in.

    Question?

I had my surgery in July 2012 , winter here, about a month or so later I was constantly cold even now in summer on a day if 25c I can feel cold. Bought this up with my doctor. Her answer was its because of the layers of fat you've lost, less insulation which made perfect sense. Apparent overweight people are at least a degree warmer so it makes sense as you shed weight you also get cooler.
  10. Donna didn't you have a fill recently, if you did sounds like its kicked in and you're in greenzone, this happens to me till I settle into it. Maybe that's what it is.
  11. Congrats on your upcoming banding. All your concerns and nervousness are perfectly normal. I remember wanting to jump of the trolley and running out as they were wheeling me to the theatre. Hopefully you won't have too much pain but if you do take your painkillers and remember the quicker you get out of bed and start walking around the better it is for you. I wish you the best for Tuesday and a quickl pain free recovery!! Oh and it will be normal if you forget some things , just ask your carers lots if questions and re read all the info you've been given. My surgeon gave me a book and I've read that book a million times already and there were some things I had forgot about too.
  12. Four days out, no way I could have eaten solids, was still too swollen and had no appetite for food till a good few weeks. I wasn't allowed to start solids till my third week and going by others on the forum that was much earlier than their instructions but I was still extremely careful and didn't really have solids till closer to four weeks.
  13. Omg look at you! You look fantastic what an amazing difference. Thank you so much for finding the courage to post your before and after. These are the most important posts on the forum to me personally and what helps keep me so motivated on my own journey. You'll also be a fantastic inspiration to the groups you will speak to especially as they are just staring out and have proof in front of them and to see with total dedication the band is an amazing helpful tool. Congrats on your amazing dedication and loss!!

    7cc fill day of surgery!

Mm and cc is the same measurement one is metric system other is imperial system. So 2 cc is the same as 2 ml. You can go to an online converter to check it out.
  15. The people that conducted this study is my aftercare team and Professor O'Brien was my surgeon, I'm so great full for them all and even more grateful I'm always getting the most up to date info from my centre.
  16. You will be fine to shower as others have said, just make sure your incisions are really dry if you don't have water proof tape over then. I used to use my dryer to be certain those areas were perfectly dry.

    Cooking with soda

I've eaten cake with my new lifestyle change do I don't see it as a diet but a new way to make healthy choices the majority of the time with an occasional treat. Doesn't mean you eat the whole cake but a sliver. I've eaten cake a few times, about two bites and am over 80 pounds down since July 2012. You learn to eat like a slim person with the odd treat.

Do I have to say goodbye to chicken?

I can only eat the thigh fillets. I trim every bit of visible fat and marinate it and stirfry it, locks in all the moisture.

    Healthier Mostaccioli

My nutritionist told me some people have problems with bread, pasta, rice but to toast bread and eat healthier bread than the white bread. Whole meal pasta, whole meal rice is perfectly fine if you can eat it with no probs.
