Inner Thigh Lift And Lower Body Lift
Summerrain replied to danielle b's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You look amazing! -
I know what you mean, today is exactly three weeks post op for me and today I have been hungry all day and it's not head hunger its gut wrenching tummy hunger but I have been a very good girl and not given in. Just been drinking extra Water and tea and tomorrow I go in for my first fill thank goodness. Can't wait to get that feeling of not being hungry again. I can't do the Protein shakes anymore they make me feel sick, so it's determination and a strong will ATM, I feel I've come too far to break all my good work and honestly I just don't want to eat like I used too, this new way feels so much better hungry or not for me personally. Big hugs for you and hang in there, it's tough but so going to be worth it!

Bbmcg I had the same thing about a week after the op. felt like I had an elephant sitting on me and couldn't take deep breathes either but it's all gone now. It's probably swelling in the area but maybe to be on the safe side call your surgeon see what he says.

Looking fantastic, you must feel so proud!! -
Hi there, I'm wondering if you may have acid and that's why you constantly feel nauseous. I know I have that problem and when it's at it's worst if I eat I feel even more nauseous. I do take somac for it and it helps clear it up. Does your tongue have a white coating on it, that's flap an indication if exescive acid in your tummy. I hope you get whatever it is sorted out soon so you feel bette

What I do is drink my Water from a bottle with a pop top (no sure what you guys call those tops) and I always have it with me wherever I go and constantly take sips from it. By the end if the day I've drunk two of those which is about 8 glasses worth. Initially you will feel bloated but if you keep up the habit everyday your body will flush it all out. Not sure if you like green tea, if you do you could make that up, cool it down and drink it cold. I do from time to time when I need a bit of flavor in my water, herbal teas are nice too but you might not like them cold.

Trying To Decide - Does It Really Stop Your Hunger??
Summerrain replied to SueAnneE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad we could all help you out. Just remember those videos are more of an understanding of how the lapband works. Your surgeon will have his set of instructions he will have you follow. Best if luck with your decision making! -
Trying To Decide - Does It Really Stop Your Hunger??
Summerrain replied to SueAnneE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Sueanne, welcome to the forums. Do a search on you tube for professor paul O'Brien, he is my surgeon here in Australia and a leading pioneer of the lapband here. I also believe he is on the board of the Texas lapband association. His videos are extremely informative and he explains exactly how the lapband works. I've been banded just over two weeks but for a year I did a lot of research and reading before I made the decision the lapband was the way to go for me. The band is a tool as others have mentioned and a great one in the weightloss journey if you use it correctly. Sure for some it won't work even if they have done all the right things and sure at times it won't work if you do t use it as a tool as that's what it is. For me personally even though I'm two weeks out it has so far taken away that ravenous hunger that would be with me 24/7. Yes a lot of the times it was a head thing but since being banded I have also lost that obsessive interest in food. From my understanding of the band via research, info from my surgeon and reading the forums the green zone will take away that hunger. I also no longer use the word diet as diets don't work. I use the term lifestyle change as that's what we need to do to make this new tool work with us. I wish you luck and please do Look up those videos they are very informative. -
Can It Really Hurt Me?
Summerrain replied to katiecakes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi katiecakes, I was banded on 2nd July, so two weeks ago. My first week I was on all liquids, my second week I was to introducing mushies and my third week, progressing to solid food by the end if it and next Tuesday I get my first fill. As you have worked out each surgeon is different with a different set if rules. My surgeon here in Australia is a leading pioneer in lapband. He also told me the day after my surgery that now they give you a fill at the third week as that's when most people start to feel hungry again. I know personally I started to feel the hunger yesterday which is exactly two weeks after being banded. I ate some Protein rich food, chicken mushed up and it got rid if my hunger for the rest of the day. I was only able to eat a very small amount but it was enough for me. I honestly don't think you have stretched your pouch as once the swelling goes down we are all able to eat as we used to. As others have said its now about control, it's going to be a tough journey but if we can try and get our head into the right frame of thinking its half the battle won, it's going to take time as we can't do it overnight. If what you are supposed eat is not enough please call your surgeon and discuss with him how you're feeling and he may very well tell you to eat mushies earlier than when you're supposed too. We are all fighting the same battle and at times we will fail but what is important is to get right back up and keep going. I wish you luck in this lapband journey!! -
Just Curious, Radical Changes
Summerrain replied to JustMeDee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The change I've made, and I've only been banded two weeks, is my outlook on life, I feel like I want to live again and enjoy all that comes with life. I was in such a state of depression for so many years, my weight also being a part of that. Since making my decision and actually going ahead with the banding I feel so much happier and much more confident. Even my three precious children said to me the other day, mum you seem so much happier and much less grumpy. I stopped to think about what they said and it clicked that I have been so much calmer and confident. Once I reach my goal I'm going to get a small tattoo of a butterfly which to me will represent freedom, I don't have any tattoos so that will be a radical step for me also. It feels so good to wake up every morning refreshed from a good nights sleep and jumping out of bed to enjoy each new day and weighting a little less each day also. -
Grrr stupid iPhone $10
-
Great idea, I've been putting away $10 for every kilo I loose and at the end when I reach my goal it will go towards a piece of jewellery to reward myself for success!

Liquids go right through

Gaining weight throughtout the day makes sense as we eat and drink. If you must weigh yourself do it in the mornings with no clothes on. They say to weigh yourself once a week but I personally like to do it every morning and if I gain a little but I know it's fluid and don't stress about it.

Gained Weight And Depressed!
Summerrain replied to dalia93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could be Fluid retention, im nine days post op and just moving onto mushies, I know it's a time for healing but I am still losing weight. We are all individuals and our bodies respond differently. Keep doing what your surgeon has asked you to do. Like someone else said in a few days you'll probably find that weight gain has disappeared. Unless you are eating like before it can't be fat gain, it's fluid. I wish you well on your journey. Also that time if the month plays havoc on the scales if you're female. -
Drinking After Meals... The Hardest Part For Me.
Summerrain replied to BigBayRooster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon said its fine to drink with meals. He is a leading pioneer of the lapband here in Australia. He said that before I sit to have a meal to have a sip of water, if that goes down well then you're fine to eat and you can take sips between bites. It will do no harm. -
Lemmanayde your surgeon should have given you all the info you needed. Do a search for professor paul obrien on you tube and watch his videos. He banded me on Monday and he is extremely thorough in giving out all intructions needed. His book is also a must read, it's titled the lapband solution. For the first week I was told a clear liquid diet, second week mushies/puréed foods and the third week you introduce solids.
