  1. Ok here is their email address Frontdesk@bariatric.com.au You can make all your enquiries via email, they said they would take you on but there is a fee and I'm assuming you'll have some sort of medical insurance as then everything will be bulk billed. If you want to know anything else yell out.
  2. How much did you have removed? My last fill took me a good month to settle into, I had to take even small bites than I was and waited a minute or two in between bites? How big are your bites, for how long do you pause in between bites? What sort of foods are getting stuck?

    Back to work!!

I remember I had 4.2 cc into band on day of surgery and .8 cc put in three weeks later. I was fine with those amounts but looks like you're extremely sensitive to what you already have in your band. If you're still struggling after having that 1 cc removed might be best to discuss with your aftercare team and get a touch more out and when you start fills have very very small amounts each time. Initially I had fills every two weeks but they were only .2 cc or .3cc, personally if I had larger ones I would have been the same As you and getting stuck with everything. Hope you work it all out quickly so you can have a frustration free journey!

    Back to work!!

Perfectly normal to feel hungry with no fills and no solids. This honeymoon period is called bandster hell. It shocked me too after being banded when my appetite returned with a vengeance, once I started getting fills it started to get better and easier but still needed a lot of willpower to get through it till reaching greenzone ( four months for me). Hang in there, this stage is tough and will prove how strong you can be, but so worth it!

    fills.....

Morelgirl well said!! You pointed out how important it is to keep in regular contact with your support team. They are an important part of being successful with our bands.
  7. Hi Kim, did you not follow up with your aftercare team after they unfilled you? I'd say its time to get back in contact with your team and discuss what needs to be done to help get you back to where you need to be with your band.
  8. For me personally these are my signs for getting a fill 1. Waking up hungry 2. Wanting to snack between meals 3. Not being satisfied for four hours or more with one cup of food or less 4. Wanting to snack after dinner. 5. An interest in food ( being in greenzone takes away any interest in food for me) When I'm in the Greenzone all those above points are not an issue for me.

    fills.....

As others have said it takes time and give it time, it took me about 9 fills to get to greenzone, my fills were very small as in .2 cc and every two weeks. This way it personally gave me time to adjust my eating with each fill and guaranteed I didn't blow right past the greenzone and into the redzone. Personally I don't think having every fill under fluro is necessary. If your fill person is going to be aggressive with fills as you get closer to greenzone you will have issues. Small regular fills are so much better and it gives you time to adjust. I know personally had I have had fills of 1cc or more at a time I would have been back and forth with fills and unfills, not what I wanted so small regular fills worked like a charm for me and have had no issues and then needing an unfill. Be patient as this process takes months and its for life granted no complications arise.

Day 4 and not doing so well

Hang in there it does get so much better even if it doesn't feel like it right now. I remember being very emotional after being banded and cried a lot and sometimes for no reason, so I thought, but I was also of the mentality, OMG what have I done to myself, I'm never going to be able to eat again! Not true! I'm nearly nine months banded, so close to losing 100 pounds and I have not felt deprived of anything. The only difference now is I've lost a lot of interest in food ( greenzone) but if there is something I crave I have a small amount and I'm done. To be honest all the things I used to love no longer taste as good as I though it did. The beginning is really hard emotionally, just take it a day at a time and you will do fine.

  13. For the first four months I went in every two weeks after that every month religiously.
  14. What you're experiencing is normal at this stage, it will settle but if you are having such a severe reaction that it feels like mini heart attacks I'd be calling my surgeon to make sure all is ok.

    Meals

I only eat when hungry, as advised by my surgeon and nutritionist. Some days it's two meals other days its three meals per day. I also take Vitamins religiously to make up for the lack of vitamins and minerals because we eat so little.
  16. Ouch you poor thing, Metamucil is something I was warned against not taking by my nutritionist because of it glugging up and blocking the opening as you've experienced. Not sure if you guys over there can get benefibre, I take that every morning dissolved into my water and have never had problems. Lately I've started using psyllium husks, do a google search, very good for us. I sprinkle it into my food also.
