Need Inspiration..how Much Have U Lost?

Banded May 23, 2012 starting weight 217 and current weight 158. So 59lbs but I havent exercised or really dieted but I'm happy with the results thus far. I know if I'm going to hit my goals Im going to need to start excersizing and eating healthier

    Tricare Prime

I have tricare prime europe region. I was banded May 23 of this year. Insurance covered it 100%. My doctor put in a referal and a letter of medical nessity. I had seen a nutrionist once and within two weeks of talking to my doctor about lapband I was approved. I tell you this because alot of people are told they have to fo six month seeing a nutrionist before insurance approves it with tri-care but that it not a requirement. I barely even met bmi requirements the day of wiegh ins infact the day of surgery I was actually under bmi requirements and I still was 100% covered. I did however had several co-morbidity. I had weight induced athma, acid reflux and a couple other things. The first time my doctor put in the referal she did not put in the medical nessity letter and tricare told me they needed that all I had to do was call my doctor and ask that she submit that and as soon as that was submitted I was approved within 5 days. You may want to find out if your doctor submitted that because without that its really hard to get approved with tricare

    Nsv - 120Km Bike Ride!

wow what an inspiration you are. That is amazing, thanks for sharing. I still consider my self a new bandster and have to admit I havent done much excesise the last five month but I recently quit smoking and I'm hoping that over time I will be able to increase my endurance and tolerance for excercise. Can you recomend somthing wheater it be certain foods or anything that might give me the energy to excersise. I'm consuming about 500 calories a day and its hard to find the energy to even just do my normal day activities and I am constantly getting sick all the time. Its weired cause all though my athma is far more controlled than its ever been I keep getting upper resportoy infections.

    Fill Number 5

for me it has been several ahaha moments. I was told by my doctor its normal cause your band loosens as you lose fat around the stomach.

    Tootight?

how long has it been since your fill. I know everyone is diffrent but it often takes me a week to two weeks for the swelling to go down after a fill. Maybe it justvtakes me longer to adjust to my new size bites but I usually stay on liquids for 5-7 days then add mushies after that and stay on mushies 5-7 days. After that I introduce solids slowly. I dont know if this could be the case but just thought I'd share my experience just in case your in the same boat

    Do I Have A Leak?

I'm sorry your going through that. I have 9.5cc in my 10cc band. I was banded may 23 and have lost 53lbs. I have not really excersized much. My point being is the band is a tool but keeping up on your fills like you have been the band should be doing most of the work for you. I mean dont get me wrong I think everyone of us has adjusted to our new eating habbits. My guess is you could have a leak and as far as the doctor scamming you I really hope thats not the case but if its not a leak then maybe. I would try and find out if its a leak and its not see another doctor and ask him why your not filled as much as you thought because if you had been filled that much it probally would have been pretty smooth sailing. Honestly the band should be helping alot and the fact that its not would make me concerned if it was me. All I can really say is be proactive ask questions and if need be seek a second, even third opinion on the matter. This is your journey and you deserve to have a doctor who can explain to you the cause, reasons and solutions. Good luck
  11. I really like the premixed muscle milk lite. It contains no milk. Is a hundred calories, 0 grams of sugar and 5 grams carbs. It doesnt have the clumps in it that alot of premade ones have.
  12. mine were 3,5, and 1.5 in a 10cc band.I have 9.5 in a 10 cc band. My doctor explained to me once the fat around your stomach goes down you loosen up a bit. my restricton is good usally for a bout a month and the more I loose so looser it starts to get but now that most of the fat around my stomach is gone I should only need like .1 cc if any at all on my other check ups

For Those Who Paid For The Lb Thru Insurance...

I have tri care but am in Italy so it may be little diffrent but for me I dont have to pay for any of my fills. I do know tricare is diffrent from region to region so you may want to call tricare and ask just to make sure because like out hear seeing a dietian and getting test ran is not a reqiremeny but Ive heard in other regions you have to see a dietian for six months just a thought so you know exactly what your region covers

    Large Fill Volumes

It all depends on your doctor as long as your not to tight your fine. My surgery was May 23 I had my first fill on July 21, my doctor put 5cc in on my fist fill July 31st and I just got my second fill yesterday of 2cc yesterday. I have a 10cc band.
