I'm still doing research but it looks like the cheapest place around me is Denver. Anyone and any advice or opinions they wish to share about the doctors in the Denver area? Thanks!

I apologize. It wasn't my intention to offend. The information you have brought is very radical and must be looked at with scrutiny. It is very different from what the majority of us understand and the way you were first explaining it was very confusing. Thank you for clarifying yourself. I don't fully understand it but it sounds interesting. Do you happen to have any links to the research? I would enjoy being able to read some of it too and maybe ask my doctor about it.

I think being told a "few sips is okay", is one thing but i think this person (running_scared) isn't talking about just sips. I've interpreted it as drink how ever much you want as long as you wait 45 second to eat before and after. To me it sounds like this person either has a radical doctor or they have their info mixed up. Regardless, listen to your own doctor. It's my understanding that the whole point of not drinking before, during and after a meal is to keep the food from liquefying and passing from the pouch, therefor losing the full sensation. I too am going to have troubles not having a full glass of water with my meals but to me it's worth it. I'm ready to be able to eat a portion instead of a whole pan of food.

Questions, Getting Lap Band While Taking Care Of Baby
happymum replied to happymum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm thinking it's going to be interesting through the puree stage.2 bites for baby, 1 bite for mommy. lol I was planning on 2 weeks post op with my parents. I don't do well with the heavy drugs so i will most likely switch to the liquid Tylenol very quickly. I'll be sure to ask my doctor about their usual procedure with the pain meds once we officially get this ball rolling. I'm soooooo excited for this opportunity but the more real it gets the more anxiety i have, and i don't even have any dates set. I'm just glad my family is supporting me 110%. Thanks!! -

Thank you! That's good to know. He's such a good boy but he's literally attached at my hip, lol. I know it's going to be a tough time for him (and me) but it makes me feel much better that it will most likely only be a few day instead of a few weeks. How long were you on the "hard" pain medication? -
Questions, Getting Lap Band While Taking Care Of Baby
happymum posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello, I'm working on scheduling my lap band for sometime this summer but my concerns are about being able to take care of my now 7 month old son and how long should i stay with my parents post op. I'm a single mom who lives alone so i do plan on staying with my parents during this time. He's a big boy, already 19.5lbs. Do you think i'll be able to lift him or how long should i wait? Any other new mom's get the lap band? Thanks -

Hello!! I'm so excited to get the ball rolling on this. I've been looking into getting a lap band for the last 5 years and i'm finally going to do it. We're just working out a few last minute payment questions and then we'll have all the who, when and where's.I'm just so excited. Although i'll have help from my parents, my biggest concern is caring for my son post op. I'm a single mom and he's currently 7 months old. I would like to meet and talk to others in a similar situation as mine. I'm looking forward to starting this journey.
