sounds like an allergy. Did you have surgical tape or bandaids at the areas where it is blistering? You may have an allergic reaction to these,

Finally on soft foods. I actually ate some chicken noodle soup today. I ate the chicken, carrots and few of the noodles. It was good to finally chew something after five weeks of liquids/pureed. I am happy it stayed down. Unsure of how much to eat as I am not sure what my full trigger/s will be. I am sure I will find out soon enough.

Any Regrets?
newnin replied to lizzybean3377@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same feelings of not waking up or some other complication during surgery. I think it is normal and I also thought why do I need to do this and being able to do this on my own. Having been overweight all my life and tried every diet only to regain the weight plus some, I know this is the best option for me. Fortunately, I have had a great post op recovery with very little pain. I feel good and I will be one month sleeved in two days. I have lost about 20 pounds. But it is not easy. At this point, I miss crunchy food. Being on liquids/purees for 5 weeks is hard and yes, it is tempting to eat something that is not allowed yet. You have to just look to future and know that all foods will be allowed if you are able to tolerate them. I now know this is the tool that will help me win the battle and eat as I should have been doing for year before the sleep apnea, high cholesterol and triglycerides. I am on the road to better health and active lifestyle. Good luck and much success to you. -

You are truly an inspiration. Congratulations on your awesome weight loss! Your upbeat attitude and tina-isms are wonderful! Those that you mentor are lucky ladies! Keep up the great work. I love seeing how you are doing. -
Caffeine is very irritating after surgery. Decaf is OK. I buy a good decaf like Dunkin' Donuts and it tastes pretty good.

Advancing Diet Sooner Than Reccomended

you are recovering from major surgery. Rest, relax and heal. I know it is boring and doing just liquids is very hard. Walk, sleep and enjoy your time off, the cleaning can wait until you are fully recovered. Hang in there. -

Gastric Sleeve Experts... Please Chime In!

I am one week post op. I feel very well. I went in the morning of surgery and had my IV placed,, met with the surgical team for last minute questions and they walked me through what to expect. A catheter was placed and another IV after I was asleep. No drains. Some discomfort with movement after surgery but not really painful. Up and walking that evening. I was kept overnight and began sipping fluids the next day. Clear liquids (jello and broth) for lunch and then was monitored as to how well I tolerated these. I went home later in the afternoon the day after surgery. Since being home I have no problems, the discomfort is getting better every day. I do nap each day and keep up my fluids and protein. My husband was home with me for the days following surgery. I will return to dr office in three more days for follow up. You will do fine and we are there to support you every step of the way. -
Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
newnin replied to SophieJaneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got home from the hospital and honestly, I was very tired the first day. My husband was there but it is not a two hour drive. My husband just kept me company and I was happy to have him there but it was not necessary. No kids at home. It would depend on what he wants or feels he wants to do. Does he need to be there, probably not. The time goes by so quickly and you will probably need him to be home when you are discharged. -
I had my surgery on 6/5. Feeling pretty good today. Some discomfort with getting up and down. The first sip caused me to have more of a feeling of pressure not pain. No drains for me. It was great to come home to my own bed! Trying to get my fluids in and started full fluids today so a few more choices.
