I have been a single mom for many years. Yes, I have a boyfriend but have done the child rearing on my own for about 13 years. My daughter will be 16 in August. My son just turned 15 on the 5th. As I stated in an earlier post I have always been on the heavy side. This is the longest I have actually cared about what I eat, how many grams of protein, how many calories. Tonight while cleaning up from dinner I was talking to myself about how instead of eating the left over cookie dough I put the bowl in the sink. My daughter looked at me and said " Mom, you've actually been doing good on what you eat and it shows. You haven't smoked in a while too. I'm really proud of you." While I really wanted to cry because no one tells me they are proud, i just smiled and said "Thank you Becca" P.S. I did eat one small cookie. I figured I would eat one and that would be it instead of looking, fighting it for a hour or two and give in and eat half the plate! Self control!!!!

Isn't a teaspoon considered a sip?

I love to dance! Usually do it when i'm home alone . I blare the music as loud as can be and just let loose! Does anyone know about how many calories are burned during one of these episodes?

Cooking For Your Family Before And After Surgery
AnnMarie49930 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm curious about how you handling cooking for your family before and after your surgery. I do pretty much all the cooking in my family and would like to know how you handle this in your home. Do you ask someone else in your family to cook for you? Do you just use pure will power to not taste test as you cook? Do you still sit with your family at dinner time and drink your shakes? -
Need to hit up the produce aisle!

The taste alone! ICK! Like licking a box of baking soda!

Where Is Everyone From?

Upper Michigan. -
Maybe it isn't that he's unsupportive . It could be fear. This is surgery and with surgery there are risks. It's a life style change for the entire family and it's unfamiliar. To fear the unfamiliar is normal.

Thank you Ester! I don't have my date yet. I have to go for blood work, the upper GI and a few other tests. I joked with the receptionist at the doctors that with all the blood they want they must be vampires! The stack of sheets she handed me was so thick!

Questions...
AnnMarie49930 replied to mamalovesfootball's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was put ion iron pills due to low iron. My menstrual cycle is HORRIBLE! Very heavy and could last anywhere from 3 days to a month! Yes, a month! The Iron pills have an adverse reaction with me tho. Most get constipated.. not me. So I no longer take them. The heart palpitations i also have. I suffer from panic attaches. I feel as if i'm having a heart attach when I have one. Not sure if it's what you're talking about though. -
Hi New. Welcome to the site. Alot of great people here willing to offer advice and TONS of info! Wish I could help with some but I haven't had the surgery yet!

Random Things To Look Forward To...
AnnMarie49930 replied to Beachbum's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things I'm looking forward too 1) Being able to walk around the block with out breathing like i'm in labor. 2) Being able to buy clothes in the regular ladies section and not be limited to ugly floral prints that meme's wear 3) Being able to go camping as a family. My children ask and ask but I don't want to look like a big old bear crawling out f a tent. 4) Going out to dinner and be able to sit in a bench seat and not have my belly pushing the table. 5) I want to go out dancing in a cute outfit! I have NEVER been out dancing! 6) Be alive and see my children get married and have children of their own. <3 -
I had my sleep study last night. It went pretty well. I fell asleep around midnight and woke at 8:30. I don't remember any dreams I had but do remember waking about 4 times. Once was for the technician to come in and reattach a lead that feel off from my head. I have very long ( to my butt) wavy hair and he's peering around my head with a flash light pulling and tugging my hair to find that one lead. Now, anyone that knows me knows I love to joke around and make comments... so... me and my big mouth said "You 're pulling my hair and i'm not even having any fun". I'll blame that comment on the fact I was half asleep! HA HA HA Other then my night. Not much else has happened today!

Congrats! I am so looking forward to be able to choose the clothes I want to buy and not have to be the "fat clothes"!
