    Preop "the last supper"

I guess I don't understand the point of a food funeral. This is a life changing ordeal for me and I don't feel like eating all the bad stuff I like as a goodbye to it. Eating all that bad stuff worsens what is already a fatty liver and can make the surgery more difficult and higher risk. I need to make a change now to be successful. I don't want to be fighting breaking all the mental cravings a day after surgery. I'm getting rid of all bread, pasta, rice and potatoes by the end of this week which is 60 days pre-surgery.

    GERD before VSG

Haven't had surgery yet but my dr recommended that I do a bypass because I have severe GERD and it would likely get worse with the sleeve. She is hopeful (as am I) that I can go off meds post surgery.

    Bypass 2015

I live in Rio Rancho. They recently opened UNM Sandoval County here and are doing bariatric surgery. I think they are also starting to do them through Presbyterian, but as of right now, you have to have Presbyterian Health Plan. Thank you all for the encouragement. I have had my first appointment with the dietician and my 2nd appointment is next Wednesday. I should have my psych eval sometime soon as well. If all goes according to plan, my 3rd appt with the dietician is end of September and then they should schedule me for surgery 2-3 weeks after that. Hopefully my insurance won't be a problem. I have a BMI over 40. I don't have any co-morbidity issues...but I'll be 50 in March so that's just around the corner if I don't do something soon.

Cigna Denied ... peer to peer?

I have Cigna as well. Could you send me the link to their requirements?
  5. After years of research I have finally started on the journey to have a bypass later this year. I have not got a date yet but am hoping for mid October. I live in NM and was excited to find out that I would actually be able to have the surgery here. Until recently you had to go out of state for it. Looking for others that are in process as well.
