  1. They sell stuff in the doctors office too. I bought samples to try. So far the vanilla is the only one that is ok but I am all out of samples and the office is an hour away. They do approve of the carnation....not sure about boost though. Where do you get trader joes? Also....do you know the kind at Costco? Thanks for responding. I appreciate it,
  2. I have not tried that...but will go get some either tomorrow or Wednesday.....we have GNC stuff in our Rite Aid store. I hope they have it. Thanks for responding. I wiill let you know how it goes.
  3. Well. I am not sure how to start a new thread, but it kind of goes with this topic. I am two weeks post op. Yesterday and today I am really struggling with getting down my protein drinks to get the required amount in. I can hardly stand the taste anymore of most of the ones I have. I am feeling emotional and frustrated.....so that isn't helping things. Any advice or suggestions ...which protein drinks do you find you like? I have the premier protein, carnation breakfast, and boost. I have some soups too but they make me gassy. Sorry I am complaining. Thanks for "listening."
  4. Zone chocolate chip cookie dough are delicious! My teenage daughter likes them too.
  5. Hello everyone! I too was sleeved on the 17th. I am doing well also.....a couple slips but with soft foods. I am too scared to eat anything hard or crunchy after reading some of the threads of those who have had leaks. The past two days I struggled with getting in all my protein. Ugh. So tired of the protein shakes.....but know I need to push through and in one week I can move to the next phase. I went and bought a couple different brands of the shakes. One tasted awful and the other was ok. I am so thankful for this website and fellow sleevers to chat with. The support and feedback is helping me get through this so much. I did get to the gym twice and walked the treadmill for 20 min and rode the stationary bike for 20. The first time I was tired and took a nap when I got home.....second time, yesterday, I felt pretty good after. I am just taking one day at a time. Happy New Year everyone.
  6. My doctor said that the pain/soreness on he left side is normal. There is a lot of stretching that goes on with the muscles when they pull the stomach out. My left side just bothers me when I sleep. Hope you feel better soon. Have u talked to your doctor about it just to be sure? I am 14 days post op and mine feels better and not as bad.

    Post op exercise

Annie.....I am on the liquid diet......I can have sugar free Jello and pudding, cream Soups or broth, non-fat yogurts and Protein drinks. My doctor wants me walking and moving often. Some days I am feeling sluggish. Today I felt pretty good and went to the health club and had more energy while exercising. When was your surgery?

I have been wondering the same thing. Thanks for posting this. I have only done walking so far. Last Friday I did the treadmill for 25 minutes and the bike for 20 and i was tired after. My surgery was December 17th. I am wondering when lifting weights and using the elliptical will be ok.

Not sure either...it's a little scary moving to the next phase...even though we are ready for change. My doc and nutritionist said to eat slow so you will know if the stomach can handle it. My doc says the next phase is 3-4 weeks out. At that time I can have scrambled eggs, refried Beans, fish, tuna, and canned chicken. The doctors website has the food list for phase 3. It's Life Without Limits. Good luck to you. : )

    Post Op Calories

I had my surgery the 17th and I am taking in around 300-500 a day. Is hard to get much more in...plus water. I am getting to the point it is hard to drink the protein shakes and don't feel like drinking or eating. I been drinking 2 protein shakes a day, and eating sugar free jello or pudding. The soups make me gassy....so I haven't been drinking those anymore. What do you all eat/drink?
  12. I have lost about 22 from my two weeks pre-op thru today. How much protein are you getting in each day? My doc said in order to lose the weight you have to take in at least 60 grams of protein. Hope this helps. My surgery was Dec 17th.
  13. My doctor puts in a tube that is about two feet long it drains out excess fluids left from surgery. Not sure why some use it and some don't. It was in my left side and I had it for about five days. A nurse came and took it out today.
  14. If I remember correctly, my dr said that surgery causes the body to release lots of Fluid and the obvious blood. Not sure why they don't get it all during surgery. This is the reason for the drain. Each day (sorry if this grosses you out), I emptied a total of about 60cc's of reddish fluid. I had it in from right after surgery on the 17th until today. I have a friend who was sleeved last spring and had a different dr and he didn't put one on her and she is fine.
  15. It was on my left side. I was surprised how much Fluid came out. I wonder why some doctors use it and others don't.
  16. I too felt really bad the night I came home and the next day. My surgery was the 17th. Had a tough time getting fluids down, and even water tasted funny. I was gassy and found gently rocking in my recliner helped a lot. Each day has gotten easier. Today my drain came out and boy did that make a huge difference. Hang in there. It gets better.
  17. Today was a good day. Drain came out...thank goodness....cleaned the house a little, went to church, and did a little shopping. How's everyone else feeling?
  18. Yes, i do have drain tube in. The home nurse today said the a lot of people say there is much less pain once the tube come out. I am dealing with some gas pains I just cant get rid of. I know in a couple months I will feel a whole lot better. Just have to get through one day at a time!
  19. Ugh. I am so sore today. . The meds the doctor gave me taste terrible so I keep gagging. I keep reminding myself that it will better soon. I don't feel like eating or drinking. Did keep the last dose of painkills down. Ugh...I beginning to thinking, why did i do this. speedy recovery wishes to everyone!
  20. Whew! I survived. Now the changes that will be the rest of my life! Overall, I am going ok. My stomach hurts somewhat and my throat really sore. Glad to hear everyone else is going well! keep in touch.
  21. I was on the liquid diet for two weeks. I am excited and nervous about my surgery. Mine is at 2pm. Good luck and speedy healing wishes to all. Praying it goes well for all of us!
  22. Thank you. Good luck to you too!
