Was on it after my 2nd child. Thought it was great not having a period , Even though in the back of my head I always thought that wasn't "right" , but It was great. Then started having serious eye problems after about 2 years. Eye doc couldn't figure out why my pressures were so high and said I was going to have to be on drops for the rest of my life. After moving to another state and trying to find a new gyno. I missed my shot. Took over a year to get my period again and more importantly I went into a withdrawl causing me to miss nearly 2 months of work. I was a mess!!!! Emotionally thought I was going to wind up in an institution. Finally saw a new gyno she explained the pros and cons and the office of 5 doctors DO NOT recommend the Depo shot. They've seen way too many side effects. Inknow everyone reacts different and this was just my story. Good luck with whatever u choose:) ...oh ANd when I went off the shot I lost 35lbs!!! Weight gain was horrible. OH and the pressure in my eyes went back to normal as well.

Happy 1 year Bandiversary to me:)
clarks4willie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A year ago today I was a banded. Biggest decision of my life!! ~ started at 225, weight at surgery was 201 & today I'm 185(lowest was 178) My experience has been really great. I'm not the biggest loser by any means. I probably would have put it all back on by now. I had a great start..and now have been extremely lax. I beat myself up about going through this whole surgery and then not seeing the results I thought I'd have by this time. BUT I didn't put in the work I should have. I know that. I exercised about 5 days this whole summer. And have eaten crap:( BUT I also have days that im mentally aware how much worse off I could be. I've had nO band issues. I can eat whatever I want & sometimes don't think I even have a band:( (again Not complaining!!!!) 1 stuck episode at only the 1st time I ate, 3 weeks after surgery. So that's amazing. I know what I'm supposed eat, about water and about protein. Just lazy! Mentally and physically. I'm going to start over , eating right and exercise on sept 1st. My goal is 30 more pounds by next August 15th 2014. At 5' foot ..155lbs would be ideal for me. wish me luck and I pray and pass positive vibes to all past and future bandsters. ) -

Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
clarks4willie replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi all:) haven't been here in a while. Was banded 8/15/12 ...started at 226 lost 25 before surgery and another 20 after surgery - thought it would have been more..I did great the first 6 months. Thought I really changed my life. I'm back in a rut. Standing steady at 185 for about 5 months. Need to dig down deep and get my butt back in gear somehow. Someway. I'm thrilled with my loss..but I know it's not enough. Having faith I will and can reach the healthy me again. -

Can feel the restriction....
clarks4willie replied to Tiffany3280's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. I'm at 7.5 in my band and barely feel restriction. Going Thursday for another fill. Hoping this one does it. Was banded 8/15/12 and lost around 40lbs. Very slow at losing but I'm good with that. I'm losing and that's what counts. I'm much healthier!! -

Similar situation here:) Started 224lbs in march. Surg 8/12 200lbs Today 190 I have 7cc in and don't feel like a even have a Lapband. But went to my 3 month preop class yesterday and was rejuvenated. The weight lose is slow and steady and HEALTHY! WTG on your lose. Look at your loss as a big accomplishment! And keep moving and follow the 'band' rules your doc set. Don't be discouraged were all in the same boat..I'm hoping I get 'green' soon!! Lol good luck!!!!!

Thing is...I totally understand the 'struggle'. That's why we're all here!!! But that surgery was Major!! It put me down for Nearly a month before feeling normal. And in the war, fighting battles with big Macs, ain't gonna Getcha a victory. ...oh I like that. Lol. Sometimes I amaze myself. Gonna go post that on my Facebook. ...
