August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
StormWarning replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Holy Smokes!! August is looking like one busy month. Wonder if we are going to be the top month on the boards. Mrs Skinny Pants, you have done such a great job. I know I've said this before, but thank you for all you are doing. -
Welcome Blue. Glad to see you made it over, No worries about the questions you may have,. We all have questions. I still have tons of questions that float through my mind. Sad part is I don't write them down and then I forget them. So now I try to keep a note pad next to my bed for when a thought or question wakes me up at night I jot it down. I can't even explain how many sleepless nights I have had recently. Not from fear, but just from thoughts, flashes of upcoming life, anticipation. Very hard to sleep through things like that. Remember this is a journey worth traveling, so lets make it a very memorable experience. Glad to help out anytime. Have fun reading!

Down To 12 Days Until Surgery On July 25Th!
StormWarning replied to Jlewis229's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on so many things Johnathan. One for your upcoming surgery. I can only imagine how excited that must feel at 10 days. I know how excited I am at 24 days away!! But also a big congratulations for not smoking. I too was a smoker and I will reach my 1 year anniversary in October. I have never felt better. Being a smoker for over 16 years, (started smoking in teen years) I know how difficult quitting is, especially when you quit for yourself! You are doing an awesome job. I wish you all the best in this journey and I hope everything moves very smoothly for you and you have a speedy recovery. Of course we all will be waiting for an update as soon as your feeling up to it. Hope you have a blast in Louisiana. -

StormWarning replied to Forensikchic's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Forensikchic, nice to see you again. I know I haven't had my surgery yet, but I read your posts as they come. It sounds like you are taking the correct steps and actions to figure out why your loss has slowed. Sounds like your nutritionist is putting you back on track, and IT REALLY sounds like you know exactly what has to be done. I admire your courage, and I do believe you will succeed in reaching your goal weight before your surgiversary. I want to wish you the best of luck, and know I am rooting for you. You can do this!! Keep us updated when you can, I hope things get better for your husband, and hope your child gets over being sick. Keep your head held high, focus, and lean on your supporters when needed. -

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
StormWarning replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Agreed, with only one rebuttal. Sure the other side may be greener but I think we will still have our fair share of freak out moments. After all we are all going to have to learn a new way, that alone is stress enough for freaking out. -
Nice to meet you Melissa. I am Jennifer. I have 2 boys ages 15 and 11, and am 33 years old. congratulations on your surgery date. This is a very exciting, anxiety filled time. I wish you all the best.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
StormWarning replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
WOOHOO.. welcome. We share the same date. FutureSkinnyPants will get you put on the surgery board as soon as she can. We have been working her hard around here, so we had to give her a break. Enjoy having you on the August forum. Just think 25 more days and we will be sleeved!! Best of luck to you. -
These look so delicious. I am thoroughly enjoying all the recipes that everyone is sharing. I started printing them out, putting them in plastic protectors and making a binder. I was worried cooking was going to be a big problem after surgery but thanks to recipes like these, I believe its going to be a piece of cake.

I was excited to have my husbands support when I told him I was looking into surgery. He made me feel so good about it. I felt so good that I told my Mom. That soon turned into a nightmare. At first my mom was completely rude about the whole thing, and made me feel like crap. My dad is supportive of me, why couldn't she be. Someone suggested it may be a touch of jealousy mixed with worry, but her negative comments were starting to wear me down. At that moment I decided I was telling no one else until after my surgery. That lil bit of negativity almost made me change my whole mind. So as it stands, my husband, sons, parents, one aunt, and husbands boss are the only ones who know at this moment and I have requested it stay that way until after. Its much easier this way than to deal with the snickers and comments behind ones back. I wish you the best of luck in your journey, and I hope you don't get too much negativity out of all this.

Hey that is always a good thing. Its hard to see the good when it almost feels like a slap in the face, but you are definitely moving in the right direction. You know it takes a very good personality to see the humor in looking forward to being overweight. I think you are obviously doing great.

Of Course I Am Scared...but I Want It.
StormWarning replied to GiGi3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Gigi, welcome to the boards. This is a wonderful journey and one worth traveling, but it can also be a stressful one with all the worries, questions, doubts, concerns, etc that one may experience. I agree with Texarkolina. Take a deep breath. There is tons of information on the boards to read and if you can't find answers then all you have to do is ask. Everyone on the forum is super supportive and always willing to help. One thing that has helped is to keep a note pad and pen handy. Anytime I thought of a question, I wrote it down so I didn't forget it, and I would ask my friends here on the forum or ask the doctor himself. Take your time, remember to relax, and enjoy the path and journey you are choosing. -
August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
StormWarning replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can so relate to the clothes. I am a horrible preserver when it comes to my clothes. I have clothes from my skinny days (size 10) all the way to my bigger days (size 26-way too big for me) to my current size of 22. I know I sshould have thrown those bigger ones away or passed them down, but I always hang on to things for that what if moment, just in case I would gain or lose weight, I think I will start getting rid of the too big clothes, weed out some of the current size clothes, and hopefully i have enough in between sizes to hold me over til goal. As far as the protein shakes I am not really stocking up, I was merely getting some to get me through the pre-diet phase.
