    Dr Alveraz

I am sure Sweetsusie will get on in due time, but I just thought I would update you all. I received a text from her saying that all was great. We were unable to text cause she is getting charged per text. She said surgery was a breeze and she has no pain at all. I will let her give the full details when she happens to get on. Just wanted you all to know how she was.

    Newbie

Welcome to the boards Rosebee. All the emotions you are experiencing are completely normal. Almost everything can relate to your feelings whether they had surgery yet or not. I thought I had a handle on my emotions until I went shopping for supplies for my surgery, and that put my nerves into overdrive. I haven't told many people myself. My mom was the least supportive and very negative when I told her. That almost crushed me to the point of backing out. My husband who is very supportive kept giving me the strength to move forward. My dad backs me 100% but is worried like any father would be. My Aunt also knows and supports me cause she knows how I have struggled. My best friend, gave me the honey, your not fat enough to have surgery speech. So you will come across those who will stand with you, and those who will stand in your way. To alleviate the that complication I have chosen to not tell anymore people til after my surgery. The negativity can wear a person down and make them weak and I choose to leave that part behind. I wish you all the best on your new journey of life. Any questions you have just hit people up, this is the most friendly, supportive boards I know of. Everyone is willing to share and help in any way they can.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

No worries Vixkey, I think we all have tons of questions. Just when I feel I have everything answered, I go to sleep and my mind thinks of more to ask. I can't say that I have slept the best in a few weeks, and I can only imagine it gets worse the closer to surgery.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I have myfitness pal, but I haven't been using it yet. I have actually been looking into fitbit, only cause most of my daily activities and duties are on a ranch working. So the fitbit will keep track of steps, stairs, movement etc. and it even will track my sleep cycles along with food and calories. I am not sure how much time I will have to actually do the treadmill or go to a gym, but I will be doing physical labor once I am cleared to do so of course. I went shopping the other day to buy some of the items that is required of me to have before and after surgery. I was walking arm and arm with my husband and I was jittery and nervous. He asked me what was wrong and I told him, shopping is making all this real. It was giving me butterflies in my stomach. He just assured me everything was going to be ok. After getting back into town from shopping we went to check mail, and to my surprise I got our passports in. That was the final straw for me. That almost sent me running for the bathroom. Those butterflies were trying to get out of my stomach. Luckily I was able to gain control of my swirling mind before it sent me overboard. The passports truly made everything real and thats when reality set in. So now its been a few days, I have been able to relax, and face my emotions. I am sure they may be hard to control until that day comes and goes. Here I thought I was strong, and life found a way to slap me in the face and say "Wake Up Honey" again.

  17. I can relate to the tidiness, I haven't even started my pre-op diet yet, but I have been preparing things in the house. I want recovery to go smoothly and want to focus on me and not on things being out of place or disorganized. I do not have a goal yet, have to wait and see what the doctor says. Glad you are handling your pre-op diet easily. I will be starting mine in about 2 weeks, and I am not sure how well I will do. My diet will be a complete liquid diet for two weeks. I am so dreading it. Keep up all the great work you are doing, and I hope Wednesday moves smoothly for you and that you have a speedy recovery. You will be in my thoughts. Keep us updated on how you are doing. Best Wishes.

    2 Month Stall!? Really?

For starters i am not sleeved yet, but this forum is very informative. I have learned that nearly everyone hits a stall around 4-6 weeks some later. These stalls can last 2-4 weeks, with the norm more around 2 weeks. I know I cannot attest to my own situations, but from what I have read it happens, your not doing anything wrong, Some people think upping their Protein, carbs, or calories just a bit can help break the stall. If you do a search on stalls, you will come across many many posts, that may give you some better information. One person said a stall is inevitable. Referred to cleaning house. Our bodies are making such a change, that it realizes all of a sudden there is all this extra space, and is trying to figure out where everything went, so it is rearranging the furniture so to speak. They say that you should keep your measurements during a stall, cause even though you are not losing weight you are most likely losing inches as your body is adjusting to the already missing weight and extra space,. Best of luck on your journey. Keep up the great work, and you will soon reach goal.

Hi Aaron, welcome to the boards, Congrats on your surgery date!! Despite your nervousness and emotions of freaking out, you are going to do great. Everyone has nerves that kick in and try to convince you otherwise, but just stay strong. I just love the saying that can be transformed into so many variations.
