Is your luggage only going to be carry on? I would ask Susan if they can go on the plane. I know according to the paperwork its recommended that we bring a few bullets with us, but not required. I for one have no idea why being they don't allow us anything but Ice chips afterwards until day 2 we can do some water. Of course this may be different for everyone as well. Not sure. -

The bullets are quick protein shots. The ones I bought have 42 grams of protein in a 3.something ounce shot. Easy way of reaching protein goals before and after surgery. -

So you tried the watermelon bullets. I bought both watermelon and grape. Does it taste like watermelon? I hear the sweetness is pretty tough and I also hear we can mix them in water. So I plan on drinking alil water out of the bottle and adding. I'm hoping it will taste almost like my water enhancers.. -

I too tried a shake for lunch to see what I am getting myself into. Now I haven't gotten my unjury samples in yet, but when I went shopping the other week at Wal-mart and Sams for surgery items I came across Jillian Michaels Vanilla Creme Protein powder. My hubby said just get it and try it, if you don't like it, throw it away.. (btw i love how men disregard money at times) Anyway, I decided that since I am about 10 days from diet i better get my head in the game and start figuring out what I am gonna do. One of the items we are allowed to have on liquid diet is carnation breakfast sugar free. Of course this only comes in Chocolate or so I could only get. I got me a cup of milk, one packet of the breakfast drink mix, one scoop of jillian's powder and a few frozen strawberries and a piece of banana ( just a very few-which I have no idea if I can get cleared for a few fruit on pre-op) It wasn't that bad. It kinda reminded me of a melted banana split although I have to say sugar free chocolate drinks taste nothing like chocolate. None the less it was drinkable, Before I added all the fruit I even tried it plain, just the protein, milk and carnation breakfast that was even drinkable, so worst comes to worse I can chug that down easily, just the fruit makes it a lil more pleasing, -

Awesome Job Stae!! You are doing great. Keep up the hard work, and keep us updated. Rock that Sleeve!! -
Are you going through the nesting phase that pregnant women go through? With my last surgery in 2010, I was so nervous cause they thought i had cancer. So 2 days before surgery I was restless couldnt sleep or rest so I started cleaning. It would be 2-3 o'clock in the morning and i would be on a step ladder scrubbing my ceilings. I am still 25 days away from surgery now, but that phase is slowly coming on again. I have been up organizing everything, trying to make sure everything on my list gets done before my surgery. I hope your surgery goes very smoothly and your recovery is a speedy one. Best of luck. Keep us updated.

Congratulations MamaMelly. Our nerves can be our enemies at times, but they are completely normal. You can message me anytime, but there are times I stay busy and may not be able to respond right away. I am somewhat a stay at home mom, but I work on my parents ranch. I am fortunate that they understand enough and have given me this time to take for myself to adjust to diet, and then after surgery i will only help out as I can and am allowed. There are certain things that I won't be able to do for two months after per the lifting restrictions my doctor has, but once I am on full release I will be out in the fields most of the days. I wish you the best of luck in your journey and know that we are all here to support you, -

I agree 100%. Here I am been stressing how I am going to make it through my 14 day liquid diet starting the 23rd, and all I can say is, "Yes I Can" I see icandothis and how well she is doing the 30 day and I believe if she can manage that and come out in one piece I can do my required diet as well. She gives me strength in my way of thinking, -
My parents (especially my mom) freaked when I told them. My husband was ok with it, especially after meeting Dr. Alvarez in Houston for the seminar. My husband finally told his boss of my plans, cause he is going to be taking sick days for my surgery and his boss was shocked but ok with our decision. Of course there is a worry there being in law enforcement, but I think as long as you keep your nose clean, stay out of places you should not be,and don;t advertise your work affiliation all is going to be well. After all we are being transported by bus, to and from the hospital. I am very content with my decision and have no worries, and my hubby feels the same.

I think it sounded great as well. Think I may try it before i start my pre-op diet. Thanks Susie

Oh I hope things work out for you. I can only imagine the heartbreak you had to endure when they told you it would be canceled. I will say prayers and send well wishes that all goes positively. Keep your head up... -
I have watched all his videos. He really is a great doctor and person. I am going to be so pleased once I get my surgery.
