  1. Have my sleeve booked in for the 6th July in Perth at st John of god hospital. Anyone else had their sleeve there? With dr Jon Armstrong?
  2. I have just signed up to play basketball starting in 1.5 weeks, by that time I will be 9 weeks post op. I thought it would be fine. My surgeon was encouraging me to start going to the gym and lifting weights at about 5 weeks out. I have started running and going for walks and will be going to the gym starting this week. However, a friend of mine that has had the surgery almost 1.5 years ago said there is no way I should be playing basketball until at least 6 months out to give it sometime for my internal stitches etc to heal properly and I shouldn't risk it incase I hurt myself or trip and fall. Same this with lifting weights, and that I should wait at least 6 months. Is this true or is he over exaggerating? Should I continue and play basketball and do weights in gym? I feel great and I do feel "ready". Any suggestions please?
  3. They served it to me in the hospital. And my nut and surgeon said it is totally fine. I have had a cup every day and I'm about 6 weeks post op and stil losing great.

    Pcos

I'm almost a month out and nothing at all has changed yet
  5. & i don't feel too well now, to top it off I had it with a tea. It was a sponge type so not to heavy. Or at least that's what I thought its just so hard having big family gatherings and a table full of yummy food and dessert, and not having anything!!! I am just always failing with this post op liquid stage. What else can I have apart from soup, actually I think I'm failing in that too because the soup I have is like a thicker purée type. Not like a broth. I had a small bowl of ice cream too, earlier on the day. Am I going to get a leak or damage my sleeve?? Please any advice?

    Two Years!

    You look fantastic!!
  7. Thank you to everyone that has replied to this thread. I do now understand that I am setting myself up for sabotage if I cannot gain any self control. I will be in control from now on. I will make myself a promise right now, to follow the post op diet to the letter. It was given to me for a reason. So I could not harm my body. And what I have been doing is exactly that, harming myself and not caring, taking a risk. I don't want to die, I don't want to end up in hospital. The thing is, I feel good, I feel normal. I am having a great recovery, i have been up and about ever since I got home from the hospital. I have so much energy I just don't know what to do with myself! I used to just sit and watch tv a lot and eat or snack. Junk food was my best friend. Now, watching tv is kind of boring without eating, so I try not to do it so much. I think it would be better once I start exercising. I have my post op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow and my nut the day after. Thank you again to everyone, I really do appreciate your help and support. Xx
  8. Losers bench, here I come! I can't wait to be sleeved tomorrow. I hope everything goes to plan , fingers crossed. Will give you guys an update soon as i can x
  9. Hi guys!! Mishy here with an update! Well, surgery went well, fantastic actually no problems at all. Got discharged today and got home after 3 nights in hospital. Pain was minimal, the only time I truly felt pain was in the recovery room. As soon as they took me to my room and gave me the morphine clicker I was totally fine. I only really needed the morphine for the the first day after surgery really. Didn't really even need panadol after the first day and a half I'd say. A little bit of a sore throat. That's about it really. Was better than expected! My tummy My food after 2nd day, first 24 hours is only Water
  10. Thanks everyone! so a quick little update; got to hospital 10am, did all the tests like blood pressure, ECG weighed me etc. I haven't had anything to eat or drink since 7.30am. Really thirsty now! I am just resting in bed till i get taken to the holding room, then surgery at about 2.30pm which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. They gave me special knee high stockings to wear now and keep on the whole time in hospital (the ones that prevent blood clots). That's about it so far, and so far so good! I'll post another update when I am on the other side! Ps- I asked my surgeon to take a photo or keep my stomach, I really want to see it lol, is that gross or what?! I just think it would be pretty cool! xx

    Pcos

I too have pcos and I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, since then I have gained about 30kg my doc put me on metaforman too but I found it didn't really do anything for me so I stopped. Also have very irregular cycles maybe 3 times a year. I am booked to be sleeved on 7 July, I really hope this works and I can feel normal again!
