I had surgery june 2012, I have a 14ml with 7.25 in. If I eat too fast I can feel restriction and usually end up bringing it back up. If I take my time I can eat too much (I think) so far my weight loss is 5lbs in total... I'm just glad I didn't tell a whole bunch of people because I feel a failure. I haven't got my head round this, I wish I also got councelling because the 'crap' food goes down no problem... any advice anyone???

Thank you! How are you doing with your journey? I will look into the vitamins thank you

Hi all, I had my band fitted back in June this year... the weight is coming off all be it very very slowly. I've had 3 fills and now have 7.25 in a 14ml. My last fill was 4 weeks ago and I really felt it was working but maybe not quite in the green zone as yet. But this last week I can't keep anything other than liquids and soft foods down. Anyone else encountered this? I'm waiting for a call back from my docs but thought I'd just ask on here first

Hi hoping someone can help... On my Fitness pal I have between 1000 and 1500 cals a day, on the days I do 50 cardio what net cals should I be having??
-
I had my 2nd fill yesterday, I am on liquids today and tomorrow then mushys for two days. I am sooooo hoping for a bit of restriction! You are spot on with the 'slow' process!!! Congrats on the restriction
-
Thanks tnt.... it's not worried me and luckily I was in a position laid that I couldn't see what she was talking about. Nice to know I'm not the only one

Been for my 2nd fill today and I have blood in my band due to the last nurse (not my normal one) hitting a blood vessel during my last fill. She wasn't too worried about this and said she will change the Fluid at my next fill. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how did the changing of fluid go???

Your Doc would hate me... I actually gained!! but got it off now. Really well done for your good start, long may it continue x

I am the same... banded 3rd June 12 I lost 16lbs but that was in the first 3 weeks then nothing... all i keep thinking is stay positive until restriction, although thereupon I had the band was because of not being able to say no, well I still can't say no so neeeed that restriction! Keep us posted, keep positive and listen to fellow experienced bandsters... that's what I'm doing... good luck!!!

Had surgery 3rd June this year... I lost 17lbs in the first 5 weeks and that's been it. ,He scales haven't moved either easy for 7 weeks now. I'm on mfp having 1200 of there about cals every day. Go lane swimming 2/3 times a wk. I have had one fill (4.5 .ml in a 14.ml band). I feel hungry all the time and I'm disappointed in myself. Anyone got any tips what I'm doing wrong??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Xx

Thank you everyone for the tips and advice. X I will try lowering my cals and carbs... I think you may have hit the nail on the head with that one, looking back at mfp I am eating lots of carbs. I think the advice I have been given from my dietician is sketchy, no calorie goal was given just stay off certain foods altogether and eat from a side plate instead of a dinner plate...

Hi all, I was banded on 3rd June 12, i am now a week into my mushies...poached eggs...fish...mashed potato ect. For the last 2 days I have had a strange feeling when i stand up and walk around, It's asthough I can feel the band inside me and also feel bloated and a bit of pain if I try to pull my stomach in. I wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if its common??? I'm a little scared that I may have eaten too much, although I use a tea plate for meals. Or is it something that may be 'stuck'. Any advice would be helpful x

Soft And Mushy Foods
K6TYX replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had cottage pie, baked fish with mash, mashed sweet potato and Carrots. Today i tried some fresh Pasta with spinach and ricotta in a tomato based sauce. Very nice! Tomorrow i.m having fish pie for tea. Still unsure of how much i should be eating so i.m sticking to side plate portions. Can.t wait to speak to the Dietician. -
I see, i am really going to watch out how much i.m eating then. Thanks
-
I know everyones diet differs like some have to have liquids for 1 week whilst some have to do 2... I was wondering how many calories people aim for at the mushy stage? And then beyond?
-
Thanks, i.m just hungry all the time, this is my first day on mushies, managed to eat alot more than i thought i would be able to too. I have a guide to what foods i should be eating but no guide to how much and i don.t speak to the Dietician for another 2 weeks.

Itching From Steri Strips?
K6TYX replied to Mandajo111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am allergic too, i have 3 red raised rectangles on my stomach and they itch like mad! But it.s worth it in the long run, hopefully won't have to put up with it much longer. Hang in there -
Hi, I am now 7 days post-op and feeling 98% I would say. Just having a little problem with one wound not healing but a trip to the nurse on Thursday should sort that. I have the 14ml band with no fill at the moment. I was wondering if I will feel any restriction (when I start eating mushies next week) or will I have to wait for my first fill? That is around another 5 weeks away and I'm worrying a little that I would see the results I expected???
-
Thank you I will definately invest in some scales. I know I'm only one week in and on liquids but I didn't expect to be this hungry all of the time. I hope when I go onto mushies this will change. Thank you for your advice. x

I wonder what it is! It's irritating more than anything. I woke up through the night and as I stood up the top of my leg was compleatly numb! I hit it and everything! I'm going to see the nurse Thursday so I will ask her, see what she says.
