I just tell them the truth: I eat less.
If I deem them worthy, they hear the rest of the story.
If not, that's all they need to know.

Just sleeved 2 days ago in Mexico I am at Mi hospital. My doctor was Dr. Lopez and his wife Dr. Osana. Both great doctors very personable and no complications. Passed both leak tests and I am ready to go back to the hotel for two more days and recoop poolside and maybe do a little sightseeing, lol.

    Hi Jasmine,
I was originally thinking of the lapband. I started my WLS info search on the internet and youtube. Once I read about the sleeve, I didn't consider anything else. I am 8 weeks post op, down 31lbs as of today. I feel great, and Im glad I had the surgery. My taste buds have changed, things really dont taste as good as they use to. " That's a good thing, right". Everyones different, what is easy and good to me, might make you gag. LOL!

Are you referring to the cheese crisps? if so, just cut them up and put on parchment paper in microwave. No food processor needed.

I know where your coming from. Giving up coffee and diet coke has been the hardest thing for me. I gave up the soft drinks first, the coffee didn't happen until 3 days before surgery. I'm 8 weeks post op and have had maybe 4 cups of coffee, but it doesn't taste the same or have any appeal to me.
Oh, and in the beginning I threatened some people with bodily harm! Luckily, they gave me some space and Now I'm better!

I desperately want to walk and my thighs not rub together! I want to sit on an airplane and not be wedged into the seat. I want to shop for clothes and look in the mirror and NOT be depressed!

My dr didn't put any restriction on caffeine at all. He put a 2 month restriction on carbonated beverages.
I quit smoking, and my cherry coke zeros for this surgery. I've decided to stay off the carbonated beverages even though my Dr didn't say I could never have them again. It's a slippery slope for me, and I believe starting to drink soft drinks are a "gateway drug" lol.
I have one bottle of Water first thing is the morning flavored with the energy Mio, which has caffeine. That's all the caffeine I have during the day now. I would make coffee again but I think it's better for me to get my caffeine from Water rather than coffee. Just my opinion.

I don't want to go to regular restaurants anymore, just fast food. I can find something small off each menu. If i do go out to a nice restaurant though, i just eat my kids and husbands food. I get an appetizer plate and get a couple of bites off each of their plates. You figure it out as you go.

Territravel reacted to SunnyCox in 40 Hours Before Surgery And Starting To Get Cold Feet! Help!
I had cold feet up until the moment I scooted my big booty from the stretcher to the operating table. Then, I was out a minute later. I think it is normal to be excited and apprehensive.
The best part of being sleeved is that I am no longer a slave to food and hunger. Before I had surgery, I kept telling myself that I should be able to diet on my own. I kept failing. I felt like a failure. Once I came here, I realized a lot of people had those same feelings. They thought they should be able to do it on their own. Now that I am sleeved, food doesn't control me. I am in charge of what I eat. I don't feel like I am starving. I don't constantly reach for something to eat. I don't have the desire to graze, eat sweets, or stuff myself. I can go shopping and pick healthy choices for dinner and be satisfied. I also realize that I can eat not so healthy choices on occasion, but I eat them in moderation. I feel so in control of myself in a way I never did while dieting pre-sleeve.

I am 6 months out and it is still the same. Eat too fast and regret will follow. One needs to pause before eating like Michael Jordan at the free-throw line. Visualize what you are about to do, follow through, don't lose concentration, stay in the zone. Beats "shouting Europe at the toilet."
