If you went to Mexico...
Territravel replied to flmama's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used DR. Verboonen in Cancun. He operates in both places. -
Make sure you have a seat assignment. The night before travel, you can go online and check in. Saves a few minutes at the counter. Make sure you don't CARRY ON any liquid of any kind, over 3 ounces or TSA will keep it!

You may want to try swimming as well. Great exercise for your whole body!

Territravel replied to AussieLady's topic in The Lounge
I have sleep problems as well. I work midnights, and have for ten years now. On my off days, I convert back to normal hours so I can spend time with my family. I have a noise machine that I turn up "rain or ocean sounds," and that keeps the outside noise at bay. Also, I take a daily allergy pill that puts me sleep. -

Do You Weigh After a Poop?
Territravel replied to joatsaint's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
O.k, this is probably TMI, but I know for a fact that the human body can hold up to 5 lbs of poop. Just be sure and weigh yourself before you prep for a colonoscopy, and then after! -
Just about 5 weeks out. I am freezing and exhausted. Anyone else?
Territravel replied to rxkid2384's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take monthly B12 shots. It helps me when I feel a lack of energy. And yes, I'm always cold, unless I'm in the middle of a hot flash! Ugghh. -

Sad and Seeking Words of Wisdom
Territravel replied to MaryC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
First, I want to say I',m sorry that your going through this. It's crazy to think that your surgery hasn't been successful so far. Did your Doctor tell you how much of your stomach he removed? Yes, this is a tool, but one that works because of the restriction. I would call your surgeon and discuss your weight loss, see what he says. In the meanwhile, follow VSG guidelines. Protein, fluids, exercise. Don't weight for at least one week. Take your measurements, see if your losing inches..Try and remain positive, if you can! -

Graveyard Shift/ Awkward sleep hours
Territravel replied to Pelekania's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read where people who work a night shift, gain weight over time. Since it's against our bodies natural clock to sleep during the day, they may not rest as well. Our bodies use sleep time, to heal and restore. Slower weight loss sounds reasonable to me. I also work the midnight shift, and average between 6-7 hrs of sleep during the week. On the week-end, I switch back to days and sleep 8-9 hrs. I might mention that after ten years of this shift I had packed on 75 lbs to my 5'3 frame. Happy to report since my VSG I've lost 76 lbs. I take plenty of healthy Snacks with me, and don't eat out of the vending machines anymore. I take things like almonds, fruit, skinny cow cheese and multi grain snack crackers, Protein shakes, and Protein Bars. I try to have a snack or Protein Drink every 3 hrs or so, works for me. -
Here's my unusual story as to why I'm here
Territravel replied to Suprisedtobesleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, that's kinda crazy! Everything happens for a reason. All you can do now is move forward. Read as much as you can about VSG, to catch yourself up. Take extra good care of yourself! Main thing, is to relax, anxiety makes everything worse. Best of luck! -
husband is getting on my DAM nerves!
Territravel replied to Cookiemonster73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to hide my stuff. I have a 16 yr old son, who eats everything, and could still hide behind a lamp pole! -
I'm glad to hear, that your talking to someone about these fears. Just remember, your heart and soul remains the same, that's who you really are! You've spent your whole life hiding, and your about to emerge from that cocoon. Take a deep breath, pray. Good things are coming your way!
