I remember feeling light headed the first two/three weeks. It went away when i was able to add some calories and drink more.

Yes! My immunity needs a big boost. Getting over my third cold in three months. I'm taking my vitamins, drinking juice, and if I wash my hands anymore, my skin will fall off. It must have to do with the surgery, but I don't understand why it would. I''m nine months out. -

Height, Weight, And Size Poll
Territravel replied to LeaveItToSleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 5'3 starting weight 223 wearing 1x tops and tight 18 bottoms. Weight now 150-152 medium tops and 10/12 bottoms I'm currently in a five week stall. I don't always eat the right things, but I manage to stay under my 1200 calories and work out 4/5 times a week. Guess it's time to shake things up!!! -
Please be honest

I remember being uncomfortable. The only REAL pain was where they put my IV. It took two weeks for the pain in my arm to go away. Ok, now what to compare the pain to, for someone who has never had surgery or given birth? Less pain than a root canal, but the soreness lasts longer. -
I had an easy recovery. Rested whenever I could. Went back to work on day ten, but could have gone back by day seven. Everyone is different. Better to take a few extra days that you don't need, than to not have enough and feel bad at work!
-
I took a nap everyday before going back to work. Once back to work, I napped on my off days for the first six weeks. Rest your body whenever you can, it helps to heal.

Wow! Can't wait to see the results at six months! -
You'll be fine! Prayers for a quick and painless surgery...

It really wasn't bad.I was able to leave the hospital four hrs after the surgery. It completely took away my appetite. Good news, I lost ten pounds in about a week and a half. My sleeve became a very picky eater for the first couple of months. Now between the small scars from VSG and gallbladder surgery, you can play connect the dots on my tummy.

The Good, the Bad, but Mostly, the UGLY
Territravel replied to Newnay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, the ugly of uglies was being 5 weeks post op and traveling through the Las Vegas airport. I knew I should eat before my long flight home. I stopped at the airport sandwich shop and ordered a chicken salad, tried to eat it quick, big mistake! Having to Slime, in the airport bathroom was horrifying. Can you say gross in about a dozen ways! Remember to EAT SLOWLY or else. -
UUGGHH, nasty! I would rather be beat with a baseball bat, than to drink that stuff. Sorry you have to go through that!

Congrats!

2 weeks out and i had a total break down
Territravel replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, your not crazy! Your body is trying to heal itself, and causing your hormones to be out of balance. Many people go through this. I became very sensitive around two weeks, and wanted to cry over nothing. It will pass! I know, everyone says this, but it really does get easier. Hang in there..Hugs! -

Medical Withdrawal from Retirement (specifically 457)
Territravel replied to Miss Piggy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did a hardship withdrawal from my ISP plan at work. I had to supply them with a document from the Doctors office on letterhead paper with the cost. I was allowed to get out a little extra for the travel and hotel stay. I was told by the people at my ISP, that they didn't think out of country surgeries would qualify, but it was approved. Christmas eve I had my gallbladder out, so I'm hoping between the two surgeries I have enough medical bills to make it a tax deduction as well. -

I use to take Ambien a 1/2 tab at a time. Man, that stuff really works. But then i started reading where people can sleep walk/talk/eat/drive/sex. My hubby did tell me " on more than one occasion"' that we'd been intimate, and I don't remember, so sleep sex is true! I quit that stuff cold turkey..Lol! -
