Territravel replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Praying you made it home, and are there with your babies now! Still praying for a complete healing. Did you have a lot of complications when you were banded? -

48 hours for me. I was hooked up to an IV for 47 1/2 hrs of that. Guess they do things differently in Mexico. -

Territravel replied to MrzSongbird's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Ten day pre-op diet. 3 Protein shakes and in between yogurt, cottage cheese or broth. Lost ten pounds before surgery. I was proud of myself. It's the first diet I didn't cheat on! -

One Week Post-Op Questions
Territravel replied to Thinner Peace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, all normal. five days since surgery, and finally did something besides pee. I'll be happy when the gassy, bloated feeling subsides. I have used the gas-x strips and they help. -

Running Nose After Vs?
Territravel replied to judy7120's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had surgery on Friday and my nose is running. I would rather it be something related to surgery and not a cold! But not a clue what it could be. Anyone out there experianced this? -
Hi Renee, I turned 51 in Jan. I finally came to terms that my weight issue was not getting better with age. I put off doing surgery because I was convinced i could lose the weight on my own. {Reality} I was just sleeved on friday! So glad that part of my journey is over, and now I can concentrate on becoming a healthy, thinner person. Good luck on your decision.

Personal Yes, But When Did You...
Territravel replied to jaymzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw Doctor Alvarez on utube and he said "There isnt a specific time limit, it's when you feel up to it, which is going to be different for each of us". He was cute and said if the wife requests it, he will write a note to the spouse and tell them 6 weeks. LOL! -
Wow! That's terrific...Hope I can do half as well. Surgery in two days!

I'm with you Lowe, this is my biggest fear, because I have always ate fast. Barely stop to chew. I will have to eat in private for a while, so I don't gross anyone out with my throwing up...uuggh. But this is a tool, You and I will learn to use it properly!

Substitute For Protein Shakes
Territravel replied to anm968503's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure what you can have in your post-op shake. Im pre-op and didnt like the taste, so i jazzed it up a bit. ..8 oz skim milk, 1 scoop EAS vanilla soy protein mix, 1tbsp sugar free Hills Bros cappuccino-french vanilla, 1tble organic sugar free peanut butter and 1/4 banana, oh and a tblsp of milled flax...Low in calories and sugars and taste sooo good. Ive lost 9lbs in 7 days..Blend and enjoy! -

Congrats! Man upstairs has better plans for you... -
It's definitely all about mind control. The last week before my liquid diet started, I went to all of my favorite places and ate. Chinese, mexican and the different fast food places that help me get to where I am now. I didn't over eat, Jjust had enough to fill me, and I enjoyed my food.. So I guess it was like saying Good bye. I'm on day 7 of my liquid diet and down 9lbs. Hope to be down a few more lbs before my surgery on Friday. If I can do this, You CAN DO THIS. Don't freak out, remember you are in control! Best of luck.

Getting Vsg 6/27/12 Looking For A Mentor/pal/walking/workout Buddy In The Atlanta, Ga Area Which Is Where I Live Thanks!
Territravel replied to aworkinprogress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would love to know about the single spider thingy. Is it suppose to be easier than the regular Vsg? Oh, and you should know I do get stuck a couple of times of year in Atlanta. I've found a cheap place about ten minutes from the airport. It's next to a waffle house. Don't think it's in a safe area, but I just stick a chair under the door knob. Hehehe! My husband and I also sponser a child from the Palmer Children's Home in Hernando, Mississippi. It's a great organization, and we're proud to be a part of it! Terri -

Territravel replied to aworkinprogress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, Wish we lived closer. We have a few things in common: VSG, animals and travel! I'm outside of Memphis, but travel through Atlanta all the time...Guess if you wanted to walk the Delta airport concourse with me..Second thought, Im usually running those, LOL! My surgery is june 15th in Cancun. My family is going with me, and will be a mini vacation for them. Not so much for me, but happy that they are coming. -
Is Keeping The Secret Possible?
Territravel replied to Nikki613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't want to tell them, then don't. It's your business. I haven't told anyone but immediate family and two others. As far as work is concerned, I'm going on vacation to Cancun. Which is all TRUE! That's where my surgery is. I have been on a strict liquid protein diet before going on vacation, again true...Not sure what to say, when I start dropping a large amount of weight on return to work. I don't believe in lying! I agree with the person who said to take your lunch outside, Maybe put on work-out shoes and go for a walk. Then you can say, your watching your calories and exercising. -
Prayers going out that you get the right job for you! Sometimes, God gives us what we need, not always what we want...
