Brand Spankin' New Here!
Territravel replied to sascmed314's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the forum! I'm a self-pay. I hate dealing with insurance companies. Not saying I haven't spoke to a few nice people that work for them, but for the most part I can't stand dealing with them. Good luck, hope your new approval comes quick! -
You can do this!! In the end, you'll be happy you had the surgery!

Cant Stop Crying Any Help?
Territravel replied to ambershanee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
BenisaMartin may be right. Too little calories and your body thinks it's starving. It will then try and hang onto all calories consumed. To see how many calories your body needs to lose weight, check out this web site...www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators.html Good luck! -
Last Meal The Night Before Surgery?
Territravel replied to made2beme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The night before surgery, I went with my family to a restaurant, and watched them eat seafood. UUGGHH, it was so hard! I didn't want to take any chances, so i sipped my protein shake and drooled. -

Territravel replied to PreciousCargo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Looking great! Check out WWW.bodyfatguide.com it has lots of info on how to help loose skin. Keep up the good work! -
It happened to me at 4 weeks. I had gone to a baby shower and nibbled on a few things that i shouldn't have. It went down so well, guess i got cocky. Went home and and took a bite of my sons bean burrito, and it wouldn't go down.... What came up in the bathroom, was the weirdest thing. Don't overeat, or eat too fast or the Slime Monster will come to visit!

Territravel replied to Chicago1962's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I Swear To God I Could Choke My Husband Right Now!
Territravel replied to reneeclark1276's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry, didn't mean to be nasty, just an expression of speech. I'm really happy you had a chance to get out your frustrations, before you choked your Husband. -
Wow! Sounds like you guys are losing at a good speed to me. I was sleeved 6/15 and have only lost 27 lbs so far. Went through a week long stall, and have just started to see some movement again. I read on here that if your not getting enough calories and water your body will stop losing. check out this web site, it may help...www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators.html

I Swear To God I Could Choke My Husband Right Now!
Territravel replied to reneeclark1276's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry, got to agree with Notime. Instead of having a meltdown, it's time to pull on the big girl panties, and do it yourself. Ultimately, it's up to us to get what we need! Don't worry about the stall, you'll work yourself through it. Good Luck! -
I Understand Slow... But Really?
Territravel replied to BoBann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there, it will happen! How many calories are you eating and are you exercising? I went through a two week stall, and read on this forum that if you don't eat enough calories your body will go into starvation mode. As soon as I added more calories to my diet, the stall broke. Good luck! -
Who Are The Best Gastric Sleeve Surgeons In Mexico ? Decisions Decisions!
Territravel replied to Hoping2BSleeved's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Wow! That's like being on a car forum and asking which is better, Chevy or Ford? I suspect, many people on this forum like and respect their Doctor, so your going to get alot of personal opinions. I went to Cancun, used DR.Verboonen, had my surgery at a medical center, not a hospital. Now, that may scare you, but I had a good experiance, very little pain and no complications. So I'm happy! -
Camping After Surgery
Territravel replied to alwayseating2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When were you sleeved? You definitely want to stay hydrated, but other than that, I can't see why not! -
Everyone's different, some heal quicker than others. I have a sit down job and probably could have gone back after 1 week, but I stayed off for 10 days.

Hang in there, it gets better! While in Mexico for my surgery in Jun, I had trouble sleeping and decided to watch TV. The only thing on was cooking shows in spanish..LOL!

Driving After Surgery

Not Alone, Or Am I
Territravel replied to grammyto2's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Yes, once you begin to lose weight you will notice how your knees and back don't hurt as much. I'm sleeping better, and my asthma and allergies seem better as well! I'm down 25lbs as of now. As you get to feel and look better, your self-esteem should go up. Someone else mentioned it, but it couldn't hurt to get some counseling now before the surgery. Good luck, and hugs from the mid-south! Terri -
If your parents are worried about Mexico, then go to Cancun. It's a great vacation destination. I had my surgery there and took the family. Everyone had a great time and I had no worries at all! I used Dr.Verboonen and have had no problems what so ever!
