My Journey Is Starting
Territravel replied to Pepper Paul's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck with your first consult! Things will move quickly from here. -
It's going to be ok. Your on the right path, admitting that your scared, and slipping back into bad, old habits. It sounds like the move and job change has you stressed, and food is your new best friend...I would recommend you start with the basics, WLS diet 101. If you exercise 4 times a week, amp it up to 6 time a week..Don't give up, you can do this! Good luck.

It's o.k to cry. I've heard a few people, talk about how emotional they were after surgery. Your body is recuperating and your hormones are wacked! Once the weight starts dropping off, you wont be bothered as much by food commercials, or food in general. Keep the goal in mind! To be healthy and lighter.

Almost 6 Weeks Out, Still Can't Sleep
Territravel replied to Ready4success's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, fellow midnight workers. 3rd shift will mess up your sleep cycle. I take Zyrtek for allergies and that seems to knock me out. I tried Melatonin, but it gave me nightmares, weird. I use to take 1/2 Ambien and that worked like a charm. I was worried about becoming addicted to it, or worse, becoming a victim of sleep eating or driving. Good luck, hope you get some rest. -
Pictures don't lie, your looking great!

Low Bmi Questionnnnnn
Territravel replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone's different. Men seem to lose faster than women, high BMI seems to lose faster than low BMI. I feel like I should be doing better myself. But, 30 lbs is great! Your going in the right direction..And remember, slower weight loss makes for less saggy skin! -
Yahh for you....Prayers and hugs!

Really Disappointed With Such Poor Weight Loss-Insight?
Territravel replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like your metabolism needs a jumpstart! I'm 15 weeks and i've been through two stalls. I had read somewhere, that taking in too few calories could hinder weight loss..I tried adding adding calories and fat to my diet, and lost three pounds..Same thing after the second stall. I'm not saying it will work for you, but it's worked for me. Good luck! -
Just How Much Is Everyone Exercising?
Territravel replied to Ready4success's topic in Fitness & Exercise
It varies for me. 4-6 times a week on the treadmill/crosstrainer for 40-50 minutes. Strength training twice a week with low weights. I would love to join a gym with a pool, but there isnt one close. May start a Zumba class, just to shake things up. -
Wow! I had no clue that VSG could be done as an outpatient.
