Ive had gout before when I went on the Atkins diet. NOT FUN. My big toe joints killed! I guess we'll get it now won't we? Have you had it? How can be treated?

Just curious, I've noticed that some are running down their pre-op to do list, and teeth cleaning is on there. Why is it so important to do this pre surgery? Risk of infection? Healing time?

I take Effexor and have been wondering the same thing. I switched to the twice a day tablet. Im going to make sure to ask the Dr. When I have my pre-op. This stuff is great..... Unless you're late or skip a dose. Then you realize what a monster this med is. I plan on getting off off of it after I get to my goal weight. I'm going to taper down with a pill splitter and cut the tablets into eights, staying at each level for two weeks, then transitioning onto another anti-D at the end, then tapering of of that. I've reasearched and that seems to be the way to go. So wish I was on something else. I works really well though! :')

I feel the same way. My last nut visit is this thursday!!! It really has gone by quickly. I hope I get approved really fast. How wany more months do you have to wait?

Ive always been an hourglass. When I gain weight its even all over. But now its hourglass with a big bellly, big boobs,and a big butt. When I was at my thinnest, i was a 4 on top, little waist and a 6 on bottom....sigh...... Im looking forward to my face getting thinner the most though. :') This insurance crap can't go fast enough!!!!

Ive been wondering about this too. I dont have my surgery date yet, my last nut class is on the 27th. I'm happily married to a wonderful man. But........I look forward to a little attention from other men. Just as a confimation that I've still 'got it'! Not to cheat. Never! Its just that I feel so invisible most of the time. My sweet hubby still thinks I'm sexy though! Yay!

Oh, and Im going to my last Nut appt. On the 27th of this month. Then the paperwork is submitted, and hopefully I'll be approved. That only leaves me two weeks to get it all done!!! Dr. Davidson, in Dallas, is my surgeon. Love him.

Ive been doing makeover on my home! I built a 12 ft. Dining table, painted a picture for my guest room, refinished a chest of drawers and repainted my guest room. Made two topiaries, and two sunburst mirrors. Next up: painting my kitchen, living and diningroom,make two bookcases for my livingroom wall,and making two chandeliers to go over my new table. Repainting a coffee table to go with my new paint, and making slip covers for my livingroom chairs. Then, painting a 6' round tabletop into a clock to pit on the wall behind my couch. Whew! I really only think about my surgery at night, mainly. When Im doing projects, I'm in the zone' and get excited about my project. its good exercise too. 6 months is a loooong time to wait, so I got busy to pass the time. I think sometimes they look for things to 'help' you seem worse off than you are, so you are more likely to get the surgery. I figure its a good thing. If it really bothers you, dont say anything about it..... Maybe in a few months no one woukd ever believe it anyway! :')
