    Need Advice!

I had the gastric sleeve surgery in 2013 and in the past few months I have gotten way off track and started to gain weight back. I am afraid I have stretched my sleeve and am wondering if anyone else has been able to come back from this situation and get restriction again. I just let myself get out of control and want to get it back. Is it to late or is there something I can do at this point?

    7mo post op...I need help

I am struggling too. I have messed up and hated myself for it. I had negative thinking were I was calling myself an idiot daily if not hourly. It is easier to eat wrong and eat way to much, than I thought it would be. I have decided to regroup and go back to MFP to start tracking, it is the only thing that works for me. I think that you need to do the same thing, forgive yourself and move on...You need a plan and it won't be easy. Use some of the ideas people have given you and sit down and come up with some go to meals. I have to do the same thing. I started back following the rules and have already lost 2 of the pounds I gained back. You can give in to the excuses or decide you want it bad enough and make it happen, I hope that I am making it happen. I am a year out and the day I went back to eating correctly my sleeve went back to giving me good restricition.
  3. Thanks for the advice and the encouragement! i have been tracking for two days and concentrating on getting my protein in and fell better already. Glad to be back!
  4. I have had a busy, wonderful, stressful summer that I let become an excuse for going beck to some bad coping behaviors. Of course the coping behaviors involved going some horrible eating habits. I had lost about 57 pounds and have gained back about 5. I am evaluating what I need to do to get back on track and this seemed a good place to start. Still love my sleeve and am so grateful for the weight I have lost but it is time to get myself going again, still have a long way to go to be where I want to be. Any advice or encouragement is welcome! I know there are lots of people that have had great success on this forum!
  5. Will you add me my email address for Facebook is kristivaile@hotmail.com. My name is Kristi Vaile on facebook.
  6. What I have been told in regard to pricing for garage sale is if the item is in good shape price it at a fourth of original price. So you paid $40 you would ask $10, I have some clothes I would like to sell also. It would be nice to get a little money to put toward the new clothes, right?
  7. What an amazing transformation! Congratulations on your hard work and commitment!

It does not pay to be greedy

Thanks for your words of wisdom. It is good advise. I sometimes wonder if I have the restriction others have because I think I am eating more than I should be able to without pain or getting sick. That's why i was curious about how much you can eat and how you know when to stop.
  9. I had some regrets after the surgery during that first month when I was literally morning the loss of food. I then started feeling better and able to eat more and was feeling much more positive when I was hit with an episode of cluster headaches which I had not had for 18 years . They are also called suicide headaches. I think the reoccurence had to be related to the surgery and/or weight loss. I have asked myself many times if I knew the headaches would come back would I do the surgery again and it would be probably not but I can not undue it so I refuse to regret it. I am getting some relief from my headaches and hope I can get the drive back to make the most of my sleeve.

    I eat stuff!

This topic made me chuckle because I eat stuff too. I am trying to stick to the high protein low carb diet as much as I can but if I didn't have a treat once and awhile I would go crazy. I love that the sleeve keeps you from going overboard and I can eat one thing and be satisfied instead of the whole box or package!

It does not pay to be greedy

How do you gauge how much to eat? Do you have a certain volume or calories you use to limit yourself? I am just wondering what the best way is to not go over the line. I am not having to much of a problem but would like to be able to figure out how to stop before the discomfort, It is challenging and my first advice to myself is to eat slower, I seem to think I should eat like I did before surgery.
  12. My daughter is getting married in June and I have been putting ff getting my dress until I am closer to my goal weight. Of course that is a little easier to put off than ordering a bridesmaid dress. I think mooregirl has the best idea. See when the latest you can order and put it off as long as you can. Eight months out seems like a really long time out but you probably have to order six to four months based on my daughters experience. Hopefully by then you will have a better idea of the rate you are losing.

    Anti-depressants?

I was able to take mine right after surgery. I only missed one day. Swallowing pills was never a problem either.

    Anti-depressants?

No I have been on antidepressants for a long time and it wasn't an issue.
  15. Well maybe if I would have stuck to a couple bites I would have been okay but stopping has always been a problem for me so for now I guess I will have to stay away from sweets. If I can remember how miserable I was it shoulfd be easy! Glad to know that down the road I may be able to have a bite or two of chocolate. A life without any chocolate would be sad.
