My surgery is June 7, this post has made me nervous. There are alot of things on here that have made me nervous. My BMI is 38 but, I've been reading about people not losing weight. Getting a little scared. -
Surgery Failed Today!

Amen MGM! It was a wake up call for me. My pre op diet starts on Thursday, but I may start tomorrow. I'd like to know if the size of the liver has to do with the BMI, because some dr. don't even require pre op diets. Just curious. -
What is a NSV?

Did You Or Are You Keeping Your Sleeve A Secret?
msYoYo replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sleeve-a-licious, I finally told my mom. Simply because I didn't want her to be pissed with my husband if she happened to find out. She took it rather well and is even helping get my proteins together. She's not really happy with my decision, but she understands and is doing everything that she can to help me. I'm glad that I told her. -
Are they large incisions or very noticeable. I haven't had surgery yet. Also, what are you all drinking to get your protein. I want to start buying my stuff so that it's already at the house.

My surgery is June 7th. I'd love it if we kept in touch as a support system. It seems like we all understand each other. -

I hear you letsdothis. That's exactly what I plan to do, show up to a family function like BAM POW how you like me now. I'm so excited about improving my health and boosting my self-esteem. I have not always been overweight, I've gained weight after having my beautiful children. But, now it's time for momma to get her body back. And I'm READY! -
Did you get a cardiac clearance before they attempted the surgery? Some doctors require it and others don't.

I finally told my mom, my hubby definitely knows, 3 close friends, and a cousin. I choose not to share the info with people. My in-laws are very judgmental and really don't care about me anyway. They just like to know things because they can cackle about it amongst themselves. -
June 5Th Surgery - Looking For Some Pals!
msYoYo replied to ShannonK's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey you'll. I am so excited, my surgery is June 7th. I really would like to keep in touch with everyone as a support system. I start my pre op diet on the 21st. -
I sure will. I'm so excited!
-
Hello. I'm being sleeved in June, I took my pre-op class yesterday and I'm a little nervous. I'd like to know about incisions and how the sleeve has changed your life. Does anyone have regrets? Please share.
-
No if ands or buts about it, I would find a new doctor. That military, soap box approach to weightloss pisses me off. Of course you know the seriousness of losing weight...that's why you're there. Screw him, there are plenty other qualified doctors in the country that cares about their patients and would be happy to have a self pay. Best of Luck sweetie, don't let one jerk get you down.
-
How long have you been sleeved? Did you have hair loss? And What did you do for protein. Sorry for the questions but, I'm really excited about my surgery.
-
How much have you lost? My surgery is June 7 and I'm excited, yet nervous.
-
Yayy! When's your date?
-
Which state are you in? I have a little experience with Cigna, I've never heard of the face to face meeting. That's new to me.
-
I got my approval and date yesterday too, June 7. I can hardly wait. It seems so close yet so far. I'm excited.
-
Long story but here's the short version. It took them 8 days to give a denial, then I had to submit more paperwork. After that it took 2 days to give an approval. So, it took 2 weeks in total. Don't get discouraged. Also, trust your coordinator they are working on your behalf. Without surgeries, they are unemployed so trust that they are trying hard to get your approval. Keep me posted. My date is the 7th.

I understand the frustration. I got my approval today. Keep your head up and think positive.
