Isn't this amazing? We are really going to go all ghe way to goal once and for all. Personally, before sleeve surgery, I had no vision of me ever reaching normal weight, and believed I would die fat, many years prematurely. YeeHaw! I love reading about everyones success! -
Long story... Anyone else been here?
Sharon's last chance replied to akirk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issues due to the funky shaped "sleeve" I got which is more figure 8 shaped with a very narrow openning between the upper and lower lobes. I had a total of 4 endoscopic stretches over a 2 - 3 month period before it really improved. Still have issues with some days/meals better than others, but much better and I am now eating adequate amounts. The stretches aren't fun, but not that bad and worth it. I have no regrets and happy with my progress. Good luck. -

People dont get it!
Sharon's last chance replied to shandytx83's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Maybe your friends just need more time to absorb the change and accept the new reality. I imagine in the past you enjoyed shopping and eating out together, perhaps without worrying about calories. Maybe if you continue to explain and stand firm on what you will and wont eat, they will get it and stop trying to feed you inapropriate food. I hate you see you lose your friends over this. Congratulations on staying strong! -

Sleever of 2 months - Please share with me
Sharon's last chance replied to CaseyMichigan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hang in there. I had surgery May 17, 2012, was in hospital 9 days and had to go back weekly. for about 2 months for IV fluids as I was dehydrated. Couldn't keep much down. I had 4 endoscopic stretches over the first 2 -3 months and finally started doing better. Just want you to know, I now have no regrets. I have lost a total of 161 pounds including 54 pounds lost pre op. Early on I had the same feelings of regret that you are having, but I want you to know that not only do I not regret the surgery, I think its the second best thing I've ever done. Going to therapy to prepare for this surgery was the first best thing as I know I would not have been successful had I skipped that step. I hope you will soon be done with the complications and miserable times and begin to enjoy the many benefits and pure joy and amazement that I feel as I watch my body change and my health improve each day. Sending prayers and.positive thoughts your way for strength to get through this awful time and fast healing and recovery. -
Clothing sizes.

Just remember it's not you. its the clothing sizing, don't let it get to you, make you feel bad or take away from what you've accomplished. You have done amazingly well! -
husband is getting on my DAM nerves!

Maybe you need your own frig shelf and cupboard space that is off limits to the rest of the gang. Or buy some red yard sale stickers and mark your food with the stickers. Make it clear that when there is a red sticker, it means STOP, don't eat this it's moms. Your husband and children can learn to respect that these special foods are what you need to continue to improve your health. I love the idea of them eating healthier but still think you should be able to have what you need clearly marked or in a special area that you can count on to be there when you want/need it. Good luck! -

Progress at almost 9 months out.

I had Surgery on May 17, 2012. My highest weight, about 3 months before surgery was 374. I lost 54 pounds pre- surgery. Weight on day of surgery was 320. Post op I have lost 107 pounds, for a total of 161 Pounds. I am off most of my medications and feel so much better. At my max I wore a size 32/4x. I am currently wearing size 18/2x and in some styles can almost get away with a 16. In spite of some complications which kept me feeling pretty miserable for the 1st 3 - 4 months, this is one of the best things I have ever done. I'm not sure exactly what my final goal will be, but I think I want to lose another 50 pounds. I'd like to add before. and current pictures but haven't figured that out yet. This surgery has given me back my life and I couldn't be happier. I really appreciate all the support and information that is shared here. -
