    Vaginal Bleeding

I wish I'd seen this a month ago! I went to the gyno for my annual check-up and mentionned that I'd been spotting for several weeks. Also I did mention the fact that I'd had sleeve surgery and lost nearly 60 lbs. I hada an endometrial biopsy and a vaginal ultrasound in the office. While the biopsy cam back normal, my doctor as still concerned about the bleeding and recommended having a hysteroscopy and D&C to determine if pre-cancerous cells existed. I had the procedure today and am waiting for the pathology results. While searching this site, I found this discussion. If this is why I'm bleeding, I'll be so pissed that I went through all this expense and stress over the last month. I asked my surgeon if the bleeding could be due to the weight loss, his PA said "no" and that I should have my hormones checked. Hormone levels were all normal. Why wouldn't the surgeon let sleeve patients know that irregular vaginal bleeding could be possible after losing drastic amounts of weight so quickly? I wish I'd known.

    Sharp Pain

I had the same pain, in the lower left side. It's where the trocar was inserted during surgery. Also, the nurse explained that the nerve endings are waking up which is another reason for the sharp pain. My pain was awful, I couldn't get out of bed with out help and God forbid I coughed or sneezed! At about 4 weeks the pain was totally gone.

    Big Mistake!

Seems a bit strange to me that you didn't feel full sooner. I am 5 1/2 weeks out, last night I went to a wedding and ate 2 cocktail size meatballs, a carrot, 3 green beans and 2 chucks of watermelon over a 30 minute period of time. I was full, in fact I had to get up and walk around because I felt uncomfortably full. I know everyone's different, but I can barely eat more than a few ounces of anything. Maybe try to eat slower and chewing your food thoroughly, you might find yourself feeling full before you can ingest a full 8oz. Give it time, for me it wasn't a mistake. I've lost 30 lbs. since surgery, I feel better (BP is 106/68), look better and have gotten tons of compliments on how great I look. Definitely not a mistake for me! Hope things improve for you.

    Truthful Regrets, Anyone?

I'm not sure how I feel. I had surgery on 7/25/12 and have lost 27 lbs since my surgery date. Problem is eating, I have so much difficulty eating anything. On a typical day I have a protein shake for breakfast, greek yogurt for a snack, string cheese for lunch, Unjury Chicken Broth for a snack and by dinner all I can force down is a piece of chicken breast (from a chicken shish kabob) and 2 pieces of sliced squash. Eating is uncomfortable and is a chore. Nothing tastes good and I have no desire to eat, I'm5 weeks post-op, when will this change? I don't want to gorge myself, but eating without feeling sick or experiencing gas pains in my shoulders would be great.

When Can I Start Working Out?

My surgeon instructed me to walk, walk, walk and this started about 4 hours after I left the recovery room.

    Who Knows About Your Wls

I told my husband, adult children and my best friend-all have been very supportive. I felt I had to tell my employer since I work for a small family-owned business and I needed to take off two weeks. I wish I hadn't, they are all slender (genetically) and they've made some nasty comments about "fat" people that really offend me. I hesitate to offer any more information than I have to, but they don't get WLS at all. I've been asked if I was going to get some exercise rather than just starve myself! I was only 2 weeks post-op and wasn't cleared to exercise other than walk, and I was following my surgeon's diet to the "T". They've also commented that all obese people need to do is learn portion control! God, they are so ignorant! They may be thin and attractive on the outside, but they are nasty and ugly on the inside! I think once I've lost some more weight and feel more confident, I'll be job-hunting! My advice, tell only those you have to tell.

    Creams For Incisions

My surgeon's NP suggested "Aquaphor" and said it comes in the "equate" brand at Walmart.

    No More Diet Coke!

I was a Diet Coke addict for about 20 years! One week before surgery I just stopped cold turkey and now, 3 weeks post-op, I don't even think about it. Prior to surgery I did have headaches, but now I have none. I'm amazed-you can do it too!

    Left Side Pain

I'm almost 3 weeks out and I have the same pain on the lower left side of my abdomen. NP says it's muscular, but the pain has gotten worse over the last few days to the point where I can't stand for more than a few hours at work. This morning I'm holding my side while walking around the house. I haven't done anything more than walk as far as exercise goes. Should I be more concerned?

    Most Humiliating Fat Moment

Too many to list! Being called a "fat cow" by a classmate during a senior powder puff football game (funny thing is, I only weighed about 160), being stared up and down by a homeless man on the boardwalk at Venice Beach and him asking my boyfriend how he liked to have sex with "that" (i weighed about 175), the countless times children would say "look at that fat lady mommy" in stores and the mothers would say nothing. Stares on buses and planes and while having a meal in a restaurant. People are cruel and just plain rude! I can't wait to lose this weight and not be stared at for the wrong reasons anymore!

    2 Questions.......

Holy crap, I never even thought about the staples! Will they set the alarm off going through security at the airport?

    Well...wednesday Is My Day!

Good luck, hope you have a complication-free recovery! Get your fluids and protein in, walk lots and get your rest. My doctor has his patients start the multivitamin and Calcium Citrate after week one. I bought B-12 subliguals to add to his. I also bought premier protein drinks from Costco and Unjury Chicken Broth on-line, they give me all the protein I need during my "full liquids" period. Best wishes!
