OK... Went and had an EGD this morning. No stricture but very red and inflamed all the way down to the point that it's starting to erode a little. Back to square one! Strict liquids for two weeks then back to the doctor. They did change one of my meds which they think will help! Maybe things will get better... Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

Hello there. There really is so much to consider. I was originally going for the sleeve. On my final appt before surgery the doc said no because I had a hernia. I was crushed! I too did not want dumping or the severe restrictions. Well, here I am a month out. My case is not typical but right now I'm not happy. I think if you are super serious about weightloss, the bypass is the way to go. How much are you wanting to loose? My surgeon told me that if you have the sleeve and you need a feeding tube for some reason, it makes it complicated because you can't undo it and there's very little room for the fluid to go into. With the bypass, it's reversable and they can still use your stomach without a reversal. Good luck in your journey! Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

I am having a really hard time with this surgery. I went back to my surgeon yesterday. I disclosed that I was taking gummy Vitamins. She said at this point something was better than nothing! Just to be careful chewing them. I go back Friday for an EGD to see if I have a stricture. This has been the hardest month of my life! Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

Liquids don't sit well. Eating makes me nauseous and I still can only eat a few bites. According to my doc, at one month out I should be able to eat several tablespoons of puree food at a time. Because I can't seem to eat or drink enough, I'm not getting enough nutrients and feel awful all the time. Me and this surgery are not friends right now! Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

OK.... Called my doctor and they worked me in for first thing Wed morning. Went and had beautiful done. Also, found some premade shakes at GNC. The guy let me sample some. Much better than the ones you make. A little pricey though. But anything to get my Protein in right now! Ate some chili from Wendy's. Felt a bit nauseous, but it stayed down. Thank you... I dumped on yogurt in the hospital and am scared to death to try it again. Worst feeling ever! There have been days I haven't gotten any Protein in. My hair is gonna eventually fall out and I'm never gonna feel better. I just wanna cry some days. I've lost a little over 30 pounds but I would rather have my 30 pounds back than feel like this! I'm three and a half weeks out and feel like I should be doing much better by now. Still not getting enough liquid or protein. If I eat I can only take in a couple teaspoons. If I drink a lot, even small sips, it makes be nauseous. I'm not in any pain anymore but I feel bad all the time. I have no energy and my head hurts a lot. Any ideas??? Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

Does anyone know if we can take clindamycin. I have an abcess tooth and was prescribed it in liquid form. The pharmacist said to drink 8oz of Water with it. I told her I couldn't and why and the response was do your best. I called my surgeon's office and they never called me back. Please help.... Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12

Question? I get really flushed about ten minutes after I eat. It last for about half an hour. Anyone else having this happen? My husband thinks it's my metabolism kicking in to help digest my food. Jess...Surgiversary 9/19/12
