Has anyone tried the unjury cheese sauce?
atelux17 replied to Sleevie J's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I liked it. It got me truth liquid phase post op because I'm a cheese addict. You have to find the consistency u like & blend well. I sometimes put that & some nacho sauce on spaghetti squash. -
I started online dating again. I totally agree about the face to face meeting ASAP. You know if someone is a yes or no. It was easier when ppl rejected me for my weight, I could say they were shallow or close minded. Now I feel rejected for my age (30) & flab. It's hard to have explain my body to people, like I have extra skin, stretch marks, droopiness, & my boobs are empty. I met someone& started dating, having fun, but he says he doesn't want a "serious" relationship; no future. I'm not settling for anything less. We all just have to keep looking for what we deserve& we deserve it all--the love, respect, & faithfulness.

I went to my parents this weekend. Confession: not only did I binge but I feel like it was a convergence of every bad eating behavior I ever learned. I inherited binge, emotional & overindulgent eating from my maternal side. From dad: grazing, eating sweets after almost all meals, and drinking. I was under 1300 cal but normally I keep under 1000 when I'm at home& way more carbs than usual. I think we will all have to fight these behaviors. Fiddle, at least your calorie expenditure(hiking) seems to match your intake. I swam laps today out of guilt. I felt so off the wagon. I plan on getting back on track tomorrow when I go home. I'm 9 months post op but still concerned about damaging staple line by overeating.

What's the Worst Diet Advice You've Received?
atelux17 replied to Greeknugget's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to eat fruits for a week then veg for a week & then only clears. I was ravenously hungry. But my Colon was clean. Off topic a lil, I went to my doc after working up enough courage when I was15& asked for wt loss advice. She said, "Just start running. "& then " remember the fat kid from standby me you look just like him". 1) I'm a girl. 2)how's a 200+lber like me going to run without shattering a kneecap? -

Panniculectomy troubles :/
atelux17 replied to Aaronmadeit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you're hypovolemic& need fluids. Go to ER now. You can't treat this alone. Btw really irresponsible of your surgical team to not have an easy way of contacting. -
Chipotle burrito bowls. Double chicken. No sour cream use Greek yogurt. Food for a week.

Low carb Hardee's menu.

Are you applying for reserves or active duty? I'm an RN thinking of joining Air Force to become a CRNA.

I guess I'm the bad kid here. I only drink diet soda when I drink, which is rare. I can't drink straight liquor but ill mix it with diet until the bubbles are out. It's a major peer pressure thing for me. I never drink soda at home; so many chemicals, causes sweet cravings, tooth decay, esophageal erosion etc. but when I'm out its the best alternative. No calories or carbs. As long as my drink looks full no one bothers me. I was a major soda drinker. I paired diet sodas like a sommelier does with wine. Dr pepper with your brisket, diet root beer. It doesn't hydrate you. You don't know what's in it. I want to stop but unless its a wine party, I don't know what to do.

Wow. 4 mile run instead of donuts? Bravo.

Stress cravings suck. I always want something fried or sugary. Or cheesy with carbs. I try thinking of how nutritionally worthless theses foods are to me & how it will make the scale creep upward ( worse feeling)& how eating worse does not equal felling better. What are you stressed about? What will make it better?

My Story is UNIQUE
atelux17 replied to My Story Is UNIQUE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Bowel obstruction due to adhesions with intestinal ischemia? Colon resection? No nasogastric tube to decompress the bile? Not cool. Glad u r ok! -
When I first started reading your post I was amazed to see that your daughter had my same stats. I'm 30& 5'3"& 246lbs was my highest. What if she gains more & becomes immobile, more ostracized, or loses a foot to diabetes? I can't tell you how much I would want the last 15 years my life back and to live them as a relatively thin person. The emotional battery I suffered from others was unbearable& made me practically a recluse during high school & college. But enough about me. I'm for your daughter having surgery, but like other posters I think you should both build a plan for success--cognitive therapy& major lifestyle nutrition changes. Maybe you should have the surgery first in order to show her how it really is. After you make major dietary changes she will likely follow her mom& may even lose. Also, I can't imagine having 2 post-op people at the same time or worrying about her recovery while I'm trying to go through my own. I don't know your situation fully, but do you have enough help for 2 of you at once? I would also try instilling more confidence in your daughter, let her realize others like her& if they don't, there is always someone who will like if she likes herself. Maybe she could take up a hobby like singing, music anything that she could derive a sense of self worth from. & Get out there!!!be with the other kids! I'm a nurse as well& work in a unit that this procedure is performed. I've had it& tried for 2 decades to lose weight by every means imaginable. I couldn't have done it without a small stomach, lack of ghrelin, & a ***new commitment to myself. *** I feel for you&your daughter deeply. You both have my support!

Um... B: Atkins nougat bar L: 1/2 footlong corn dog, ketchup packet (what?! Carnie good is my favorite) D: black & blue salad S: raspberries & dark chocolate ~900 calories

Totally agree. You never forget your 1st, so I'll never forget my 1st nut visit. She adjust the collar of her scrubs& said, "I'm just drowning in these Extra small scrubs. " eye roll. She's never been helpful.no dietary suggestions, just states me down when I mention no-Jo's like oatmeal&fruit (=carbs). Sometimes I have to poop. I know this is really critical but don't they care about making an impact with people? But what should I expect from someone who majored In The food pyramid.

Yeah I'm much more afraid of the Maintenance phase. If I ever get there. I'm down a 100lbs. 20 to go. I can't believe How much I can eat now at eight months versus five months out. Are used to struggle through 3 ounces now I can probably eat 6 to 8 ounces if really hungry. I try to measure when I'm at home but can't when I'm out.
-
I was on carafate. Made me have 6 hrs of continuous dry heaves. But for some it's necessary.
-
I'm 8 months out. I went from a gerber baby face to an oval. My facial features are more defined but I have bags under my eyes. My butt droops& my bingo wings are unbeatable. I still have 20lbs to go so I don't know what my stomach will look like--that's where the rest of my weight is. I'm 30& single, so I'm considering plastics, but not into the scars, risks& expense.

Have they checked your iron, B12& other vitamins/minerals? -
I wanted to punch her in her naturally skinny face!
atelux17 replied to thetattooedlady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would say to her: you cannot judge someone's situation unless you've been it. She has never been fat, never had the diet you grew up on, food addiction, stressors, contributory mental & health problems, faced the negative social situations we've all been in, etc. Try to understand that the majority of people are (ie Facebook b***h/neighbor) uneducated & lack empathy. At least fat people take the time to develop likeable personalities. I think that criticism from others is a huge factor in weight gain & trouble losing. Stay strong!!! then slash her tires& steal her husband. -
oh just freaking perfect
