Thank you so much everyone I was really concerned that my weight is too high and that he might say I should get the RNY if I really want to lose weight. I don't want to go through surgery just to lose 40 or 50 lbs. I AT LEAST want to get to 200. And I say that because my "fat brain" can't wrap itself around the thought of me being under 200.

Ok so I have my 1st appt with my surgeon Feb 19th 2013. When I went to his seminar a couple of weeks ago he barely talked about the sleeve. It was mostly a RNY seminar :/ So I didn't get much info at all on the sleeve. But the research I have done has led me to feel that the sleeve is the best option for me. I am kind of afraid of the RNY. The malabsorption is what I'm most afraid of. The sleeve seems like the middle of the road for me. But I don't know it I would be the best candidate for it or if RNY would be best for me. So I'll put my stats and if anyone knows or has an unprofessional opinion I'd love to hear it 5'6" 287 lbs ( lost 29 lbs in 6 month diet) bmi 46.3 female

Anyone use a Bariatric diners card?
Brookstein posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard of a Bariatric diners card where you show it to the place you will be eating at and some of those places will let you order smaller portions or kid sized meals. If you haven't seen it or heard of it I will include a link where I just found one. But for those of you that have... Did you get it from your surgeon? Do a lot of places accept it? http://www.wlscenter.com/restaurant_card.htm -
I feel like this 6 month diet is going at a snails pace. And I'm starting to feel kind of jealous. I see all these posts about people getting approved and I just want to be there already. Any advice for an impatient newbie on how to make this not so lagging? thanks

Great post! -
I just quit 2 days ago. And I just started my 6 month pre op diet with the NUT. Try the patch it really really helps. My insurance pays for my patches. I had to take a class over the phone it was about an hour. But so worth it! Good luck. You can do it.

I can't wait to see changes. The wiping one is something I am really looking forward to. It irritates me that the things I need to do for myself I can't do as well as I used to.
