  1. I used to work in the Pediatric ICU and we rotated the tylenol/motrin every 2 hours as well when a child had a fever that we had a hard time breaking. Also, cool bags of liquid under their armpits and groins...depending on their age and how sick they are would depend on if we got away with that
  2. I feel like a Jenny Craig commercial LOL...here's a before and "during" pic...I still have about 50 lbs to lose.... I was probably at my highest...around 270 lbs in this picture This was a month after my surgery - probably had lost about 22 lbs in this picture - probably weighed around 240 Last night...206 lbs
  3. Ok ladies, the scale may not be moving, but my weight must be redistributing since I've been working out 3x a week. A month ago I couldn't get these jeans buttoned, and today I wore them!!! Size 16's...a little snug in the waist, but I wore them comfortably all day! I'm so jazzed...back to the gym first thing in the morning! For the last 2 weeks I've been going 3x a week. I do the treadmill at 3.0-3.5mph for about 20 mins, the bike for about 15-20 mins and then aqua water resistance weights working my upper body for about 20 mins. Must be working but the scale doesn't show it... Here's a pic from when I first started and then another from today...you guess which one is which
  4. LOL!! I wouldn't have even thought about that...but now that you mention it, WHY is she measuring her apple?? And WHY is she holding her chest....??? Yep you're right, it looks pretty retarded. Here we are trying to lose weight, and they put a chick up there with food in her hands...hell I can barely EAT an apple now LOL...something with the texture, it just doesn't go down well.
  5. I keep track of everything that goes into my mouth....there are a few days that I forget, but I'm pretty faithful. You don't realize how many calories you're eating until you track them! WOW I was eating a LOT!!! No wonder I'm fat LOL...I use Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program to keep track of my calorie intake, my exercise and my weight.
  6. WE are Violets and we're all SHRINKING!!! :silly:
  7. Hysterectomy & bands = best thing I've EVER done for myself. Just wish I would have done them both 10 years sooner! LOL
  8. Laura, My hubby did something and now it works! yay! I'm on, finished the tutorial, and now I have NO CLUE where to go or what to do LOL
  9. It loads to the first screen with the beach, then when it goes to the first screen it locks up....
  10. Laura, I can't sign in to SL yet because I have to upgrade my darn video card. The laptop that I have doesn't support it.
  11. I cut and colored my hair today...felt good. I went auburn with strawberry blonde highlights. My daughter cut 9 inches off of her hair today!!! This was her before (she's on the right, my other daughter, Kara, is on the left). This is her today. Isn't she adorable!!?? Here's my new hair...it's hard to see. I'll have hubby take a pic tomorrow  I spent a fortune today at Chico's...but omg they have the cutest clothes, and I FINALLY fit in to them!!! Bought me a DKNY purse today too...feels like Christmas still! I just finally feel good about buying things for myself...it's such a wonderful feeling. :myscared:
  12. Judy what a difference!!! You look fantastic!! You ARE amazing!!!
  13. Hey Laura, I thought about signing up on Second Life...is it hard?
  14. Kat - Her spotting has stopped. Seems she only spots during intercourse so doctor just told her to take it easy. She's had 2 ultrasounds and so far both of them look perfectly normal. She's getting to her 9th week - so far, so good. She still worries - you know how it is, but I think she's just fine. He is releasing her to go back to work, which she's happy about. She was going stir crazy laying around in bed.
  15. Laura, Short of an intervention and her WANTING to straighten up OR her getting busted and getting locked up, there really is nothing that you can do for her. You can use tough love and stick to your guns, or you can accept her, try to talk some sense into her (probably won't work), and be there for her when you need to be. I've learned with my own daughter, my brother, several other family members and several past friends who were using one thing or another (sometimes several different drugs). No amount of "talking" with them did any good because it's an addiction. They either grow out of it, or they don't. You can't change them - all you can do is control your own life. What you will accept and what you won't. I'm sorry that you're going through this....it's tough. No matter how much I say that I'm done, I'm tired of worrying about it, I still will never stop worrying about my daughter, my brother and my friends....you just can't. But I know that all I can control is ME. Good luck hun...you and your sister will be in my prayers
  16. Ick, that's what I had New Years Eve day, and New Years day...the whole thing lingered for about 5 days. Drink lots of fluids and feel better soon!!!
  17. Jennifur I think we're stuck on the same shows. I don't watch TV often but when I rarely miss an episode of Medium, rarely miss an episode of House, and NEVER miss an episode of Lost!!!!
  18. Kat I am so glad that they found your friends...how scary that must have been for everyone involved...I can't even imagine. Once my daughters bus was late getting to the bus stop after school and I about panicked...I can't even imagine losing those I love in a snow storm!!!! Either way, I'm glad that they're safe. <3
  19. Tracy you look SO pretty in that dress!!! I'd have to vote on doing your hair up. I was heavy when I got married and chose to do the half up/half down thing, but I really would have loved an up-do had my back not been so fat LOL. Either way you are going to be STUNNING!!! :whoo:

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in the business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and it is nature's antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
