NSV!!!!!! My first one really...well the biggest LOL So my daughters car broke down today and we had to have it towed. The tow truck driver was HOT...well he was lots younger than me, probably 26 or so, but my 24 yr old daughter was drooling over him. LOL Anyway, he flirted with me the ENTIRE time...I mean BAD. Then he didn't charge me for the tow...my hubby was like, "ok but if he calls you again (yes he called my cell once), you let me know!" LOL My daughter said "mom I'm so glad that you still 'have it'...maybe when I'm your age I'll still have it too"....wait, was that supposed to make me feel good??? 'when i'm your age...."???? LOL Oh well, at least I feel great! -

TracyinKS - CONGRATULATIONS!!! First on the engagement and setting the date; second on your weight loss! 232.2!!! You're SO close to me...makes me want to get my butt in gear and lose faster! LOL I had my first REAL episode today....I was talking with one of my mom's friends while I was trying to hurry and eat lunch so that I could get back to work on time. I don't know if I ate too fast, too much, or both, but almost right after I left my house (I was a few blocks away), I had to pull over and I was sliming like crazy, and I felt like I was going to PB. I did dry heave twice, but nothing came up. I tried walking around for a few minutes, but it was hurting like crazy in my chest. I've had small episodes like this, but this one hurt worse and lasted much longer! It took about 30-45 minutes before the pain eased up and went away. Wow, I'll definitely eat slower next time!!! -
Leona do you live in Fresno??? I saw your signature says Dr. Singh at St. Agnes...

wooohoo! well I broke down and bought a new pair of pants tonight. My 22's were getting too big - I can pull them down without unbuttoning them LOL...so now I'm down to a 20. They're just a TINY bit snug but they haven't even been worn yet. 5 more pounds and they'll fit the way I like them. So my shirts - I started out in a 3x, and I'm down to a 2x...doesn't seem like much since I've lost almost 40 lbs so far this year, but it sure feels good! TracyinKS - you look absolutely fabulous!!!! I sure wish you were smiling too...you have such a beautiful smile....your personality sure shines through your smile and your eyes. You're a beautiful woman, inside and out. Terri - You crack me up...now *I* need a WWJD bracelet!!! Jennifur - Those sunchips nachos sound pretty yummy...I'm going to have to try them this weekend for my treat! TracyK - you reminded me, I need Friday off! I don't know - a day off sounds really good right about now LOL Judy - you are such an inspiration....we're so lucky to have you here. I need motivation to exercise!! HELP! LOL mdrai - you're looking good! keep up the good work! -

That's GREAT! Good for you! I had surgery on 4/26/07 and had my 3rd fill today. Sometimes I think part of my weight loss has been my own doing and not the band since I've not felt a lot of restriction through this whole ordeal (until today). I ate dinner tonight and can definitely feel the restriction (for now)...I ate 3 oz chicken breast (boneless/skinless), most of an artichoke (couldn't eat the heart darnit and that's my fav part!), and a small wedge of seedless watermelon. I was full!!! Had a little bit of a time getting the chicken down for once and it was very moist and tender, so I know that I have restriction.... Hopefully now I will get back on track losing some weight! woohoo!!! Welcome to the April 07 Bandsters!!!! -

Ok just got home from the doctor...he added in 0.8cc!!! I've lost 5 lbs since the last fill 3 weeks ago, so hopefully this will kickstart me a little more since I HOPEFULLY won't be able to eat as much in a sitting. That's where I'm having a hard time because I'm not hungry in between meals so I normally don't snack, however once I start eating I FEEL hungry and don't feel full. Hopefully this will help...I'm now at my 3rd fill and have a total of 2.8 in a 4cc band....seems like a lot since I just got banded 2 1/2 months ago.... -

Hi everyone! Well I'm trying to be a LITTLE better today...I think that I need a fill...I'm able to eat too much, and I'm able to eat bread with no problems what so ever....my doc said that if I have "proper restriction" that I should not be able to eat bread (or much of it) or steak (unless teeny itty bitty bites)...well I'm able to eat both with no problems what so ever... This morning I had 1/2 of a veggie egg beater omelet, about 3/4 cup potatoes (I couldn't resist...it's my weakness...) and 1/4 piece of wheat toast with orange marmalade... Weekends are hard because the family always wants to go out for breakfast. I should have told them no potatoes and got cottage cheese instead...oh well, it was divine! Tonight we're making Ahi Tuna fish tacos with avocado salsa...they sound so yummy...got the recipe off of the food network website. The only difference is that we have to cook the Ahi Tuna all the way through or the kids won't eat it... <table border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td>Seared Ahi Tuna Taco with Avocado Salsa <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="305"> <tbody><tr class="small_text" valign="top"> <td colspan="2" width="305">Recipe courtesy Bob Blumer, Surreal Gourmet</td> </tr> <tr class="small_text" valign="top"> <td width="35">Show: </td> <td width="270">The Surreal Gourmet</td> </tr> <tr class="small_text" valign="top"> <td width="35">Episode: </td> <td width="270"> Nuevo Mexicano </td> </tr> </tbody></table> <!-- End Recipe Header --></td> </tr> </tbody></table> </td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 12 ounces ahi (or albacore) tuna, cut into 1-inch-thick steaks 1/2 tablespoon olive oil 8 taco shells (available in most grocery stores) 2 limes, halved Avocado Salsa, recipe followsIn a small bowl, combine cumin, cayenne, salt, pepper, and coriander. Rub spice mixture generously on both sides of the tuna. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F for the taco shells. Heat a nonstick pan on the stove over high heat. When pan is smoking hot, add olive oil, wait 10 seconds, then add tuna. Sear for 1 minute per side, or until fish is cooked on the outside, but rare on the inside. Transfer to a plate. Separate taco shells and place them in the oven for 4 minutes (timing is everything here, since they go from perfectly done to burned after about 1 additional minute). While the shells are heating, dice tuna into 1/4-inch cubes. To serve, fill all 8 taco shells halfway with salsa. Spoon tuna over salsa and squeeze a spritz of lime juice overtop. Serve immediately.Avocado Salsa: 2 ripe avocados (ripe means it indents with the firm press of a finger), pit and skin discarded, diced into 1/4-nch cubes 2 medium tomatoes, diced into 1/4-inch cubes 1 cup lightly packed fresh cilantro leaves, coarsely chopped, stems discarded before measuring 1/4 cup diced red onion 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepperAdd all ingredients to a medium-size bowl. Toss gently. DO NOT MASH AVOCADO.</td></tr></tbody></table> -

Haydee, I'm approx 10 weeks out from surgery and I've only lost 27 lbs - I haven't been exercising....I also don't have proper restriction yet. I'm losing slowly but surely, so I'm not going to stress about it too bad. I think that 32 lbs is fabulous! You're not the same weight as you were 3 months ago, and you weigh 32 lbs LESS! Give yourself a pat on the back girl!!! :clap2: -

Ok you Shrinking Violets! Don't have too much fun without me!! I'm leaving in the morning for San Francisco - I have a meeting there tomorrow and a seminar on Tuesday. I'll be back Tuesday night! This is the one part about my new position as a Director that I HATE! I hate being away from my family for 2 days... Laura is now a married woman!!! I can't wait until she gets back to tell us all about the wedding! TracyInks - I keep bouncing between 229-230...it's driving me nuts! I do feel some restriction when I eat now...I'm still able to eat too much though - I just have to eat slower and take smaller bites, being careful WHAT I eat too. I'm due to go back in on the 16th of this month, but I'm not sure if I want a fill or not...we'll see how I feel then. Judy - I love your bike!!! Everyone else - take care and I'll talk to you all on Tuesday!! -

Kat - reading your story broke my heart...I sat here imagining what you and your baby are going through and I felt tears well up in my eyes. Your DD needs to eat...she needs to be strong. I can only imagine what she's going through and the pain she's feeling from watching her little baby suffer, but she has to be strong and keep a clear head. She needs to eat and she needs rest. As far as her ex, well it is what it is. Arguing and getting upset about him and his mothers antics will not help anything. Let it roll off your shoulders and focus on your grandbaby. SHE is the reason that you're there. As far as the nursing staff go, it angers me. I'm an RN as well and I used to work in the peds ICU. I LOVED my job as it gave me the chance to make a difference in a sick childs life. So many of these kids are what we called "frequent flyers", and you get to know them and their families on a personal level because they were in and out of the hospital with their illness/conditions. I hardly ever sat down while I was at work - I can't even begin to imagine sitting there shopping online at work! Don't get me wrong, I have allowed families to bathe and change the linens for their loved ones. However I was there to encourage and help them if needed. Sometimes because they can't take the pain away or do anything to help their loved one, it tends to make them feel better. As if they're contributing somehow by tending to their loved one... I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I've seen it time and time again. However I DID make myself readily available. I would take the linens in and the wash basin and say..."I'm going to wash your loved one up now and change their sheets...would you like to help?" I hope your ordeal ends soon...I hope that she doesn't have to have surgery....and if she does, that the recovery is short so that you can all move on with your lives and so that she can get better. I'll keep you and your families in my prayers Kat.... *hugs* -
Would you give them a chance again?
adorable replied to Lee4love1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No...I may not be the same person that I was before, but I am still ME! If I wasn't good enough for them to stick with before, they surely don't get me now! Plus now I've met and married the man of my dreams so they can all eat their hearts out! -
Would you do it again?
adorable replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ok second post to this thread - now 10 weeks out - down 25 lbs since surgery...I know it isn't as much as a lot of people lose within the first 10 weeks, but it's mine, I earned it, and it makes me happy!!! I had actually lost 12 lbs before my surgery doing Weight Watchers, so as a total, I've lost 37 lbs since the beginning of the year. I've also noticed each time that I get a fill (I've had 2 now, with slight restriction), I seem to start losing again. I don't think that I've found my "sweet spot" just yet, but I can feel it coming soon. I have a feeling I'll really start losing more then. Then I gotta get my butt moving and start exercising more...that's my downfall. I HATE to exercise. I wish I had a pool close by... Anyway, I'd do it over and over and over again!!! -

Thank you! Let's see if I can STAY under 230...I seem to go up and down a pound or two everytime I lose 5 LOL How tall are you?? I'm 5'4, 229, and still in a size 20...just got back into a 20 from a 22...there is NO way I could fit into a size 16!!! I do have one pair of 18's that I can fit into. They're a bit tight to start, but get a little looser as the day goes by.... Anyway, you gotta take a picture of your booty!!!
