Lets talk dehydration & dizziness
bringiton posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday I had a dentist appointment followed by my nut appointment followed by a wls support group. I was gone or driving much of the day and didnt get in but half of my fluids. I seriously blacked out for a second and scared myself silly! Now, do people who have had wls dehydrate faster than others, say, within 12 hours or is this just specific to me? Yesterday I made a beef stew - like - dinner in the crockpot. Instead of stew meat, I used thin strips of top round steak that just fell apart when it was done. so I had my little 1.5 oz of it with a little juice from the pot for extra moisture. It was yummy! Everything was fine until 4 am when I had bile coming up into my throat and mouth. Never had that happen before. Do you think it was the meat? I take Prevacid every day. Little confused. Where is my March Sleeves?
bringiton replied to Laurabrown929's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can drink larger sips than I could weeks before and don't have to wait very long in between. I still don't take huge gulps, though. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Everyone else already knew this I am sure-so I'm a little slow on the uptake I guess lol Yesterday I upped my Water to 80+ oz and made sure my Protein was at least 60g, did time on the elliptical... And I'm down 2.4 lbs this morning. Never seen more than a lb a day before of loss. Yay! SO get more protein! Drink way more water than the surgeon told you to! Exercise every day! The weight will come off! Sent from my iPhone using VST

March Sleevers - what does your diet consust of
bringiton replied to Jazzy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sleeved March 6th and just started regular foods. I haven't tried beef yet... But I've had chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp.... Maybe two whole bites of cauliflower or green Beans. Turkey sausage too, ham at Easter and crock pot softened pork chops. Of course, 1.5 oz. is my limit, so not too much of anything lol Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Diet .... 6 weeks out
bringiton replied to tpietrowski's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know it's hard and I am certainly not perfect when it comes to getting my protein and water levels met every single day, BUT it is so important! I had a couple of days last week where I barely hit a few cups of water and I was dizzy and lightheaded the entire time. Push those fluids! I know it sucks to feel like all you do all day is drink but you've got to try. I start my mornings with a 30g protein shake and do my best to get at least 60g total. I have to say, more is better, though. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
How much are you able to eat at one time?
bringiton replied to NHJulie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 7 weeks out and my sleeve has made it quite clear that 1.5 oz. is my maximum:) Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Sorry if its tmi, but I thought I'd ask some advice on my problem. Last summer I had nova sure done and it stopped my intense, heavy and never ending period(s). Last month I began bleeding after sex. I went to the gyn who checked me out, took swabs and sent me for an ultrasound. Gyn came back and told me I have adenomyosis and that my uterine lining is growing back rapidly, it grows through the muscle. So she suggested a hysterectomy. I have birthed 7 kids and no longer need it so no problem there. BUT after going through nearly 3 weeks of pain with my sleeve surgery, I am scared to death to have another abdominal surgery just to be in pain for another 2-3 weeks. has anyone else been through anything similar? At what point can I expect to be able to eat
bringiton posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
.... Things like Protein bars, crackers, maybe part of an English muffin or a tortilla, mashed potatoes? I am a little nervous to try them now, at 6 weeks, even though I have been given the go ahead for regular foods. Will they get stuck? I am very strict about eating my protein first, etc. so these foods I mentioned are not in place of anything else. I was just wondering what hurts going down for some of you and what works ok. stalls - how long can they go? thoughts?
bringiton replied to Marbear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to mention in addition to everything else everyone already said, that having a daily BM also aids in the weight loss. You should be able to use the laxative powder you mix into drinks, but consult your own NUT of course. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and I guess I figured the strange feelings had passed. The last few days I have been dizzy when I stand for a few seconds and super tired. What's with that? I'm getting in all of my Protein if not very close and the same with Water. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I've had ranch dressing made with yogurt and kefir before. I want to say it was Marie Callendars. It was in the cold dressings section by the produce. I liked it!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Anyone else? Lol I notice that I will make my dinner, lets say a 3 oz turkey party, assuming its small and Ivan eat it no problem. I am so wrong! Lol I could only eat about half and am feeling over filled. I've done this a few times. For now on, only an ounce on my plate at a time lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
