I'm 51 and had the surgery on Feb 27th It's the best thing I ever did for myself. Noone really knows how the weight effects you don't let your friends discourage you. Your family will support you.

Splurge you will feel so confident and everyone will notice. And an added bonus you will love shopping.

You are on track just keep up the good work.... I am down 74 lbs and it has slowed down but I really enjoy being who I am now.

Follow your Docs instructions and err on the side of caution. Good Luck! I am 6 months out and just had a great check up. 74 lbs down 35 to go..... Yea

Try some cream soup it will fill you up better but not to much. Also I will hold water in my mouth for a few seconds and it helps with the thirst. (I like real cold water). I am 6 months out and have trudged thru the rough times but It is so worth it. Keep up the good work!!

It's a great feeling isn't it... I reach onderland last month and it has been moving slower now but it had been at least 20 years since I had seen the one hundreds. I'm always glad to hear these success stories. It makes me know that this is the best thing I have every done for myself. -
You know that everyone is different.... Me I have issued with anesthesia but as far as the surgery I did not have any pain in my stomach. But some people have more or less nausea but it is only a couple of days. Just remember to only do liquids till your doc says you can start soft foods. I believe you will do fine if just believe in yourself.

I have mouth alcers occasionally but it seems that it is when I have drank my water with the Mio or other floavorings with a lot of citric acid. Pineapple especially bothers me.

Tummy Tuck and breast augmentation. My bat wing arms will have to wait unless I get a real good deal. But I am so happy with the way I look and my husband can't keep his hands off me. WooWoo!!! -
Week 5- So Depressing / Disgusting To Eat
cmw10000 replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking antidepresants as well before and wanted to stop.....not a good idea... go back to them until you have got thru the mind hunger.... I was a basket case.... maybe take a smaller dose but this is a hard journey ... we need all the help we can get. -
I had surgery on Feb. 27, 2012 I have now lost 65 lbs.I am now in onderland!! It's been a roller coaster ride a lot of the time but I am so glad that I took this journey. I feel so much better about myself, my self esteem is higher and I can look in the mirror without feeling discussed. I am really hoping that my daughter can see my success and do this for herself. I know that there are skeptics out there that think this is not a good thing to but they have not lived in my shoes to see the looks on peoples faces, to hear the silent remarks, to sit in a chair gentlely and hope it holds you. I knew that it was time for me to take control of my destiny......And I did, now I can look in a mirror, sit in any chair, and I feel great. There are no more stares and I feel like I am normal. My husband has been so supportive and he is my soul mate for life. I am so excited about my new look and my new life. I can't remember the last time that I felt this way. My daughter is 25 and my son is 24 and I don't think they even remember me being this size ever in their life. I wish I could have done this 20 years ago. So good Luck to everyone and remember on this forum we have your back!!!!!

You've done a great job. I have just got to onderland in 5 months 65 lbs total. And I have had a blast shopping for clothes. I always check the clearance rack and I am amazed at the much lower prices I am finding no more add 2-5 $ because of the size. I moved recently and found a box of pictures and i looked just like you. And I hope when all is done I look as good as you. Thanks for sharing!

cmw10000 replied to anninva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there, Not gay but all are welcome here..... we are all in the same boat.... and all need each others support. So Welcome to VSG. and Good luck! -
Well my intake is: protein shake 25 gr, mid am egg 7 gr, lunch protein 5 shrimp, mid pm cheese, dinner shrimp low carb pasta(first time since surgery)..... this is typical day. I have good weeks and bad weeks as far as losing... this week not to good no gain but no loss either. Make sure you drink plenty of water this helps I think, keep the carbs down as low as possible.

What Does This Surgery Do To Relationships?
cmw10000 replied to Minckle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow there is a lot of advise here............ You need to decide how strong your relationship was before the surgery... this had to be in the making before the surgery.... It didn't just happen... He saw the opportunity you were out of the picture for a day and would not be expecting him home at any specific time so he jumped on it. Think about it.... really. -
Congrats on your ongoing success.... You won't believe the difference it makes.
