My story isn't special or anything extraordinary. I was about to turn 29 when I realized that if I didn't take control of my ballooning weight problem, then I wouldn't live to see all the amazing things in the world or live the life that I've always dreamt of. I was a single mother that used food to comfort my sorrows, shield myself from love and blame for all my misfortunes. This was something that I did not want to admit to myself, but I did, and I am stronger because of it.
I had my surgery in July of 2010. Since then, I've embraced a new healthier lifestyle with all of its ups and downs. Now, I can do many of the little things that so many take for granted. I can run around with my daughter, play sports and look good in a fitted shirt
