Hi V, thanks for sharing your experience and congratulations on your weight loss. Four nursing degrees are impressive. I'm sure you know what you're talking about with so much experience in the medical field. Thanks for contributing to this wonderful thread with your support and offering everyone your help. I want to offer my support to any banded or soon to be banded member as well. Due to my job I'm almost always pressed for time so I'm not a very active member on this board but I have had my band for three years now and I'm sure I can help with advice on any lap band question. I do check in, not as often as I'd like to but enough to read the more relevant threads. I visit Dr. G often usually with friends or relatives and it's always the same. I've yet to see Dr. G without a smile on his face. I was banded by doctor Gonzalez in 2005, I lost the weight and I guess I was one of the lucky ones. No suffering at all with my change in eating habits. I am very picky with what I eat because I know I can only eat a certain amount. For me, it's been great. I love my doctor (in a patient-doctor sense). He has a way for doing adjustments, 2-3 minutes and you're out! I could go on, but someone started this thread asking: "Has anyone heard of doctor Gonzalez in TJ?" So I'll stick to the thread by answering: Yes I know him and so does all of my part of the greater Los Angeles area. The man is famous! I have easily referred over 30-40 patients to him. I just send him patients because he is GOOOOOD, and will continue to do so, I tell everyone I meet that is overweight: go to Dr. Gonzalez! go here . GIGI

I went from a size 22 to 6, my everyday life is much much better. Now I feel much more comfortable in public. Going up the stairs, long walks, and shopping is a lot easier and less tiring. Thank you, my weight loss was noticeable after like the first month. I was a bit like you too, I was beginning to worry 2 weeks after the surgery because I wasnt losing weight. So i started talking to people who had been with the lapband for several months, and I found that if I am patient and workout I'll be more relaxed not be worried about losing weight so quick. I dont only see the lapband as something to help us lose weight I also see it as something to help us get rid of our bad eating habits.

Hi , Congrats! well at first it was quite hard to get used to eating so little and getting full so quick. After a while i got used to it and i found out that if i work out it will help me lose weight faster and it did work out. I havent been working lately though because I am pretty satisfied with my weight although i havent acheived my weight goal.
