There I was attending a family members funeral when a family friend sat down and begin to share with me about her surgery and how having it helped her become active and more alive. One month later my cardiologist ask if I was interested in Bariactric surgery and whne I said yes he immediately left me and proceeded to refer me to the surgeon that was reccommended by my family friend. A brief period passed, but I was contacted and I attended a formal meeting reegarding weight loss surgery. After researching the available procedures both my husband and myself decided on the Vertical Sleeve. Being the researcher that I am, I watched videos of the surgical procedure associated with the Vertical Sleeve including listening to Al Roker's story about his road before and after Bariactic surgery. I quickly followed all the requirements asked of me prior to surgery and when the final step was completed I rejoiced! The surgery went well on Tuesday 4/24/12, and by Friday 4/26/12 I was bl to leave and go home. I quite active and moving as my surgeon instructed me to and all is history now, but I am yet learning things about my new pouch and thank God there is a new me inside and out. Through all my chnages my husband has been so supportive and loving to me and now he tells me how pretty I am to him !
