I hope I can do this on here. I have started a new group on Facebook for those of us who live in Ohio. I figured there we can come together and talk, give advice, ask for advice, show off our pictures, or just discuss life in general! I have seen a lot of people on message boards, and thought that this would be a better way to get to know each other better!! If you are interested in joining the link is in my siggy, or you can send me your e-mail on here!

    Curious

Like everyone else said, it's different for different people. Me personally I'm going to have saggy skin..and everything. I already have a nice pair of wings! I keep telling my nephew if I'm not careful on a windy day, I'll float away because of my wings My biggest issue is going to be my lower stomach!
  3. I was just wondering how much salt I should be eating? I am REALLY holding water in my ankles, even though my b/p is normal (actually kind of low). I really want my puffy feet gone! I know that salt intake, and heat can cause this. Or it could be something serious and I should just call my doctor! Iol. Has anyone ever used those hose? I call them ted hoses but I've heard them called something else, I just don't remember the name.

    For people 375+

I started out with walking in place for 3 mins, various times a day. I also did a walking in place video, and some wii games (I found one that would let me do exercises without the board). I now swim an hour a day, and then do my own Water aerobic with different exercises I've found online. Amazingly walking in a pool is a wonderful exercise! It helps develop your core. Walking with weights is even better!

Where did you buy your swimming shirt and pants from? I got two swimming suits from an awesome website for about 48 dollars plus free shipping! It's a really good website!

    Seriously? Does everyone exercise?

I swim laps everyday for an hour, and then do water weights for an hour. I also TRY to walk as much as possible. I haven't started regular weights (I guess what's what you'd call it) but that's because there is only a short amount of time that the YMCA pool is open for laps, and weights and I don't want to miss out on that! I LOVE it! I have a treadmill that I never use. lol. I should though. I really enjoy it. I think it's because for so long I could hardly walk, and now I can do so much more! The only thing I wish I could do different is start earlier than I do. I would love to hit the bike paths around 6 or 6:30 in the morning before I go the YMCA.

How long before you were cleared for swimming?

Started out 4 weeks, but my incisions got infected (I am clumsy and decided to take a dive in some mud about 3 weeks out..ok I fell). After that he moved it back to 8 weeks. As soon as I was cleared I was in the pool, and go every single day! I LOVE it!

    i am such a hypocrite!

No you're not a hypocrite. If you were you would be eating all the same things they are, but putting them down for doing it. At least that's what I believe. It's aggravating when someone says they are going to, or they want to change, and lose weight but choose to do nothing about. Wouldn't that make them the hypocrite?
  10. I was sleeved April 8th, and have lost around 30 lbs, I am in a stall now. Haven't lost anything for about a month. I'm trying not to get discouraged lol. I lost around 100 pounds before surgery so I should expect a stall! I have been able to tolerate everything I've tried. I don't eat bread, pasta's. or anything like that. Not because of my stomach but because I feel wiped out after I do. I have been gluten free for so long my body doesn't like it anymore! That's a good thing!! I have gone out to eat a couple of times, but I make wise choices. What I have noticed that's changed the most is how i feel. I feel amazing! There was a time I could hardly walk without being in pain, and out of breath. It was a struggle. Going to stores I would always get a shopping cart, even if I was going to buy one or two things, or nothing at all. Just because I needed it to lean on, or should I say over. Heck if there wasn't a close parking space I wouldn't even go in to the store. Now I park a good distance, I walk through the store with no cart (unless I need it lol) I feel no pain, I'm not out of breath! I swim laps for an hour a day, and I do Water weights for an hour. I should start doing regular weights but I love being in the water..lol. I don't want to miss any water time

    Swimming!

I was told to wait 4 weeks too, and then was up'd to 6 weeks because my incisions got infected! I would wait until four weeks out because you do not want infected wounds! Believe me! It's only one week away! Even though I KNOW how hard it is because I love to swim!
  12. I just hit my first stall (I am two months out today)! I have lost or gained but I've lost an inch around my waist this week! And my energy levels have sky rocketed! Hopefully the scale will start to move again.. until then I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing.. oh except I'm adding swimming to my workout routine on Monday.. mostly because I should have been a fish instead of a human

    Gained 3 lbs

Hi. I am a little over 5 weeks out from surgery. I weigh every Friday. Well last week I lost 2 lbs, and today when I weighed myself I had gained 3 lbs. I don't understand how this happened? I'm not eating anything I'm not suppose to. I try to get all my Water in, and I'm trying to be active as I can be. I do not understand how I could gain 3 lbs this past week? I am getting so discouraged. I see and hear about people after surgery and they are losing weight, and their looks are changing I feel like everything I am doing is FOR NOTHING!!!! I am on the verge of a break down right now. I did this to feel better, and be healthy and I feel like I am going no where at all. I've made major changes. I really don't know what else to do. I do have a nutritionist who is about worthless. She is impossible to get a hold of, she never calls me back, or answers my e-mail. So I really have no where else to turn! I'm really just venting, Has anyone else gained this early?

  17. I am starting to get discouraged. I was sleeved on April 8th (abt. 6 weeks ago), and so far have lost 32 lbs. I was hoping it would be more! I am also having problems with my blood pressure medication, and dehydration. There are days I can drink Water and get in all I need, and then there are days that the thought of water and food just makes me sick Even though I know I need. I am not walking like I should be. Actually I am not walking at all. I am too weak to walk. There are times my legs feel like a hundred pounds. I know why, one of my meds for high blood pressure. I've been to my doc. I am just upset because I thought my progress would be going better than what it is now, and that I would be feeling better than I do now. I don't. I don't blame the surgery, or getting the sleeve. I know that's not the reason. Today was weigh in day for me too, and I lost an entire 2 lbs! No I am not happy with that at all! It just adds to the discouragement. How much of a role does water play in your weight loss? Has anyone else ever dealt with weakness like I am? Also I get horrible gas (in my chest) after I eat, no matter how slow, or little of bites I take. I use Gas X strips which I usually have to use 2 or 3 of. Is there ANYTHING else I can use either after or before to help with this? It makes me not want to eat all.

    Potassium

Are you also dehydrated? Before surgery I was dehydrated, and had really low potassium levels. I was put on a potassium pill up until surgery, and then they took me off of it. I am still dehydrated (I'm almost 6 weeks out) but I have no clue about my potassium levels because I haven't had labs drawn, and won't for another two months! I didn't have dizziness as a symptom, but I had the achy muscles, and my legs felt like they weighed 100 lbs a piece. To the point that I couldn't, and still can't go up stairs without them giving out on me. I get so aggravated and upset because I've lost so much weight, and I still don't feel very good.

  23. Ok it is now May!! How is everyone feeling? How much have you lost so far? Any regrets? I was sleeved on the 8th I am doing good. My surgery went well. I don't remember much about that day. I guess before surgery I was dancing and singing. I really wasn't nervous. I was more calm than I thought I would be. After I was sleepy and mean lol. I didn't have any pain really. No gas pains, or stomach pain. Day 2 was my hardest day for some pain but I stayed up on my meds and slept a lot. I do have an incision that is bleeding today. I fell on my stomach Sunday and I noticed it looked odd after that. Then today I woke up with a bloody incision. It's not painful. I of course called my doctor. I have lost 23lbs so far. I am pleased with this. I am dehydrated. Which makes me weak and I'm now getting dizzy when going from sitting to standing. Which sucks. I'm trying to get my water in. I have no regrets. I am happy with my choice. Ok now tell me how you're doing. Sent from my KFOT using VST
