  1. I'm not sure why lunch doesn't work for me...today all I made for lunch was an egg and now I feel like crap. I had my shake for breakfast, didn't get a snack today, but still. I don't think I should feel like this every time I try and eat something. IDK...I see my Dr on the 16th, maybe he will have some advice. Thanks for the calorie info...I think I'm less than that daily and you're right there are days I honestly wonder how they expect us to get that many in...
  2. I tried to do just 3 "meals" a day without snacking, but I have found that I can't get enough protein in and I'm hungry inbetween my "meals". I've started to have a shake in the morning, go workout, have a small snack (1/4 low-fat cottage cheese), then a small "meal" at lunchtime, which makes me sick. Then the afternoon snack is string cheese, and now a shake for dinner, because my stomach is still not well from my lunch meal that I had ended up loosing. I'm still getting under 500 cals per day. Does anyone know how many calories we are supposed to have daily?
  3. I too had the same trouble with Bariatric Advantage. I spend a lot of money making sure that I got exactly what was recommended, only to get sick every time I tried to take my meds. I called my drs office and told them what was happening. They recommended the gummie vits, but for the calcium you can get the kirkland brand at Costco which is 500mg instead of 250mg of the BA, plus taking 3 is better than 6. These calcium also have the right amount of vit D3 (if you take the 1500mg of calcuim) which also eliminates another pill to try and take. Now I'm keeping them all down and feeling so much better...
  4. I'm now 4 weeks out from my surgery and have lost 22 pounds. I am also on Estrodial 1mg. I'm not sure if it's truly working like it used to? I'm thinking that I might need to go back to the GYN and ask about a cream. I had my total hyst at 27, and between my HRT and thyroid issuse, really put on the weight. I too am having trouble with the head hunger, and still can't seem to figure out when I'm full...I seem to eat an extra bite of something and end up throwing up and sick the rest of the day. I think that I will go back to 2 shakes per day and something really small for my 3rd meal. Any suggestions would be helpful as I feel like I'm not losing weight fast enough.

    June Sleevers!

had my surgery on the 5th of June, ended up staying in the hospital 2 extra days due to the fact that I couldn't keep anything down. I was constantly throwing up whatever I was trying to take in. I'm finally home now, but honestly started second guessing what I chose to do!! I'm sure that I will start feeling better soon.

    June Sleevers!

I'm June 5th and pretty excited!! I will have my summer off to recoup since I too work for the schools!! I will have my last appointment with my Dr. Wednesday and follow the pre-op diet. It's coming so quickly, can't wait to get my life back!! Good luck with all you the rest of you June sleevers!! You're going to do great!! This is such a great forum and support group =)
  7. With my EGD on Monday, Wednesday surgery class, and Friday EKG and tests....it REALLY does feel like it going pretty fast!! I've noticed that I'm craving things, almost like it will be the last time I get to eat them cravings. Anyone else having those. Weird for me to feel like I'm going through a loss for food period. I decided to semi start my pre-surgery diet with 1 protein shake for breakfast and 2 smaller meals...I like the idea of the healthy choice as one of the meals...I'm going to have to try that. It's very exciting to have many June-sleevers to chat with!! I've started going to our local support group, but am glad that I have many of you to chat with and help with my journey!! My family is very supportive, but they are all thin and don't quite understand what I've been going through, it's nice to not feel like the oddball anymore, and that I can get support here too!! Thank you, it's making my process a lot easier!! Good luck with all of you, WE'RE going to do GREAT!!
  8. Dr. office called to confirm everything...next week- EGD on Monday, then Wednesday 2 hour class on the pre-surgery diet and all the post op information. On the 23rd I have my EKG and Chest x-ray, then my last appointment with the surgeon before my surgery. Now it's starting to feel real!! So very excited!! Happy to see others are in June too...our month towards our new beginnings!! Good luck to all of you, we're all going to do great!! June 5th is coming up pretty darn quick...
  9. I'm on June 5th too....starting to get REALLY nervous, but excited at the same time!! I've been trying to go through this process for the past 6 years, and this year it was finally covered on my husbands insurance!! I think it will go fast, my students are getting ready for finals, and graduation. I'm kinda surprised to hear that you don't need to go on the diet...I was told two weeks prior it was protien shakes and a small dinner. This is to help shrink the liver to make it safe for surgery. Then after surgery there's some kind of special Protein drink, then next shakes, puree, and then if all is tolerated solid food. Has anyone else told they had to do the diet?
