Hi everybody! I've been stalking the forums to learn more and more about the lapband surgery and just recently decided to join. I first looked into having this surgery over 5 years ago and it was not covered under the insurance. I now have a different insurance and have been in the process of working toward my surgery for the last 7 months. I really enjoy reading the post and I feel like I learn so much. I have to admit I am a lil' addicted to LBT, lol. I find myself logging on anytime I get a chance. I hope to go through this wonderful journey with everyone and continue after being banded. I received my letter for approval today and I'm so excited for a new start!

Now I'm worried!! I have one in my belly button! Lol

Hi Everyone! It was nice to come out of surgery on Thursday and see the list of all the June Bandsters! That was encouraging! I was just in so much pain that I couldn't fully look at the forums or even reply on my phone. If I had energy I've used it for walking, and this is this the first time I've even opened my laptop in 3 days. Just taking it day by day with this gas pain!

At my support groups they have talked about this book: The Emotional First Aid Kit: A Practical Guide to Life after Bariatric ... of the eating programs for Lap-Band, gastric bypass, and Duodenal Switch k: I was told it is available on amazon, I want to buy it soon!

That sounds good! I just saw your post sorry it took so long! I've had some struggle with the 2 week diet. It is a challenge but the end result will be worth it!

I started my pre-op diet today, trying to take it day by day. But whooa, day 1 is sure hard, lol. Just staying focused on the new me! I hope 2 weeks go by a lil' faster than usual. Come on June 14th, lol!

Congrats! Most Doctors require some sort of pre-op diet, it may vary on the length. But since I've been on LBT I have also now found that some Doctors don't require a diet. I wish my didn't, lol. I start my Pre-Op diet liquid diet tomorrow, my Pre-Op appt. is on June 6th, and my surgery is June 14th. Keep us posted!

Wow Daisychains 6 days ago! I can't wait to get to the point you are at! You sound like you are doing great! I will certainly follow your journey.

Congrats on your surgery next week! I never really understood the term "nervous and excited" until now, lol. Keep us posted!
