I had my surgery on may 1st also, I lost 20 before the surgery and 32 after the surgery. I am stuck too! I know I'm not exercising enough. Trying to eat right but tend to slack off a little. I am happy with my loss but want more. Any ideas?

Lady, I think you'll find people out there with all different reactions. I got your not fat enough, really you could do it on your own just cut back, exercise more blah blah blah! I had the surgery on may 1st, I am down 38 pounds. I feel so much better. It is not the easy way out. Was it easy when you were being picked on in school because you were fat. Was it easy when you couldn't find anything to wear because you gained weight. Was it easy when you were embarrassed to go to a buffet? Was it easy when you went out with a group of friends and didn't eat because you were too embarrassed to? Because you were dieting again! It is not easy and never has been! Go for it, take care of you nobody else will. They will come around when they see how much happier you'll be. And just let them know that your gonna do it wether they like it or not!, that's what I did. And people are now telling me how good I look and they are so glad it's working for me!,, good luck and keep us posted! Lori

Maybe you are eating too little, maybe a stall. Try going back to the initial process for a week see if you can jumpstart your weightloss efforts.

I was sleeved on may 1st. I am on soft foods, but am finding everything agrees with me. I've eaten tuna, eggs, chicken, Beans, pot salad (very little), chicken picatta, cut very small and chewed well. Veggies, tiny bit mashed potatoes. Pasta salad mostly the veggies. Bite of ham and cheese sandwich. Bite of quesidilla. pudding. Tiny bites of meat. We had ribs for dinner had just a small bite. I just need the flavor I hope I'm not doing anything wrong, the doc said as long as I chew well I should be ok! I'm losing a pound every three days. Down 35 so far. 20 before surgery and 15 after. I am in week 3 soft foods. I asked the dr. If I could eat chicken cut up very fine? He said yes but be very careful to chew well, you don't want anything getting stuck in your sleeve. So that's what I'm doing-- I had buffalo chicken, chicken salad, cheese chewed well. Black Beans with finely chopped chicken and salsa and cheese on it. I need a lot of flavor they all worked well. I keep forgetting not to drink with my food and that gives me trouble. But otherwise it's all good. I had tuna salad, pulsed in a food chopper with onion and little lite mayo. Awesome. Doc said it's ok. Good luck use your imagination! Just make sure you take small bites and chew well and eat slowly.

Today I start my 3 weeks post op (Surg on 4/16) and this pain in my left side is gettng worse. I was fine until I vomited and it felt like something was tearing inside me. Initially thought it was pulled muscle but it is worse. To the ponit I cannot bend over or sleep on my sides. I'm not sure what is going on but have appt. with surgeon in the morning to check it out. Hope they didn't leave anything inside me they were not suppose to.I have the same thing, I am 2 weeks out just started soft food! I don't think it's anything, I think it'll get better over time!
Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

Moon, I would absolutely find a new doctor! I love my docs, I go to a practice that has 2 drs. They do their surgeries together. They say 4 eyes are better than one! Anyway, I love them both. You need to be comfortable with them, not be afraid to go to your appointments. Good luck!

My doc wants them crushed! He doesn't want anything getting stuck in the stomach? Do you think I could put it in a small amount of milkshake or smoothy made low sugar. I know it's not on the diet but I don't know what to do.

I'm having a hard time taking my meds. I am 2 weeks out. I have some meds that I need to take. I crush them with applesauce. They it my tongue and that's it I'm puking, dry heaving! Help!

So......I had my 2 week appt yesterday with the nutritionist. She said I could start eating eggs' date=' cottage cheese, yogurt, pudding, cheese and refried Beans. I'm allowed to have soft meat and hearty bean Soups if they're pureed. I should only be eating 1/4 cup each meal and getting @ least 800 calories a day. This is my problem........I am eating 1/4 cup (and I'm using a measuring cup) but I feel like I'm right on the verge of throwing up. I haven't yet but its right in the back of my throat. Should I just cut down my portion size??
I have been keeping a food diary since my surgery and I'm finding it hard to calculate all of my nutritional facts (Sorry but I'm OCD and I like for my figures to be exact. LOL) especially if I'm eating less than the serving size. I have looked online and I'm not having much luck finding a good tool with just nutritional facts. Anyone know any good tools?
I'm so afraid of failing! I hope I haven't stretched my stomach by eating too big of a portion. I wonder......how easy is it to stretch it out.
Thanks for listening to me ramble! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.[/quote']
Hi L, I am 12 days out. Tomorrow the doctor will let me eat soft foods! 1/4 cup of food is probably too much for you know. I would eat less. My doc says 600 calories. Protein shakes, Protein Soups, tomorrow he'll tell me soft foods. But I can't eat more than a bite full or two at a time. Hope it helps! Lori

Sorry I meant if I was in the hospital' date=' I don't know that we could find someone to help watch the kids.Do I really want to do this while they are little? Do I really want to risk dieing to be thinner? I'm miserable with the way my life is right now as far as trying to buy clothes, etc but. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. On one hand I can see all he positives that can be gained from this surgery. On the other hand I see the ultimate negative.
Does anyone else have young children and went ahead and did the surgery. My bmi is 39.9. I can lose well, keeping it off is the hard part.[/quote']
I have 5 kids, 23, 20, 11, 8, and 6, I did give it thought but did it anyway. You know when it's our time, it is our time. So if it is I could of been in the kitchen cooking! I know sounds crazy but we have to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others! Good luck, lori

Saint, I am 12 days post op, did 2 weeks liquid and veggies now just liquid, I can't stand it. I need to eat a little. Monday I will be able to eat soft foods. I have tried a couple of things, finely chopped chicken with gravy. Like 1 TBLS. omg it was so good. I've been doing the protien chic broth and that helps it is salty instead of sweet which is nice. Can't wait til moray!

I am a new sleever 6 days out. But I would start fresh with some protien drinks, sipping like the beginning and jumpstart your exercise a little. Only drink liquids again for a couple of days. It'll be like just having it done. Maybe it'll be enough to get you going again, then start slowly eating again do smaller portions. I don't know worth a shot.

I was in 2 night 3 days, yes you do walk right away, I just had mine done may 1! Feeling pretty good. Belly still sore hurts to burp or swallow to much and also really cold hurts. It's manageable.

Does anyone think right after surgery a couple days out, it's normal to be emotional? I've been crying all day. Over pictures, all kinds of silly things!

It does hurt if you take big sips go slow and small sips. But it does sometimes hurt not too bad.

I am 5 days out, had mine on may 1st. Feeling pretty good but when I do to much I get exhausted. I have 3 kids at home so the chores never end! I am down 25 lbs since I started the liquid diet on April 16th. Can't wait to get to eating phase I'm so sick of protien shakes. A nurse told me people have the best results when they follow the drs. Instructions for the first 3 months! Good luck all of you! It'll all be worth it, I'm counting on it. Lori
