Mental Issues Connected To The Sleeve
StrangelyNormal replied to missemy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lissa, no one could have said that better. No wonder we get depressed. Our comfort... What we have turned to time and again for comfort, (food)..is no longer there for us. We have to finally learn to hold or own sky up -

I'm not post-op, but I now know when I AM post-op not to even think about ditching my Cymbalta for much time after -
i do my own hair KAT!!! Can't u tell? But I'm gonna let the pros handle the surgery because my heavy breathing would fog up the strategically placed mirrors I'd need to perform the VSG on myself

Please Help Me....choosing A Mexico Doctor For Revision
StrangelyNormal replied to Sarah35's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I'm with u. Alma is so awesome. I've even talked to Samuel and I haven't even settled on a date yet but I had some questions for him. It was actually pretty funny. I can tell he has a sense of humor and he was so helpful. My fiancé and I had our "sit-down", and decided on Dr Garcia. It was between him and mexicosurgerysolutions, which offers you so much more, but it just wasn't in our budget. I'd stalked this forum for months before I'd joined and also did my research and am using Garcia. -
Please Help Me....choosing A Mexico Doctor For Revision
StrangelyNormal replied to Sarah35's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Oh yeah. The price difference is super crazy! And they have been doing the sleeve longer and have more experience than USA surgeons -
So.... I wrote my first blog. More of a "help me, I'm drowning" venting session, really. But y'all can read it and make fun of any grammatical errors I may have. (I need to utilize spell check more often)... Anyway, thought I'd give myself kudos and brag about my 1st sleever blog.......

Talking Myself Out Of It!
StrangelyNormal replied to tyvette04's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will be a breeze! I've had surgeries where I've been awake (cesareans) and under general anesthesia (gall bladder, tubal ligation) and I'm one of those Woosies that literally faint when blood is drawn. I've never once NOT passed out just getting the iv. The funny thing is life is 10% what actually happens and 90% how we handle it. So even though I have a needle aversion I know it's all in my head. So is this fear and you don't have to let it control you to the point that it keeps you from attaining a healthier lifestyle and a happier you -
I take a buttload of medicine 3x daily. My doctor said to take them as normal but have any of you been told how to take them after? When you're taking 8 capsules and 3 tablets three times a day...and you can barely get any liquid down... I just don't know how I'm supposed to take them. Maybe I can take them all at once and count it as a meal. (joking) What have you been told? I'm looking forward to the day when I'm not on meds....

Talk To Me About Medicines
StrangelyNormal replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ooh, the pudding thing would work.... Heck, I choke on them now and have a hard time getting them down BC of my gag reflex or something. I already may have to gulp a couple of times to get a small pill down, and y'all would all lol if u saw me taking the capsules (all the capsules are larger than an m&m). I can miss one dose of the cymbalta and get brain zaps so that is a must. I'm compiling another list for the Dr and this is going at the top. I've just read so so so many posts about people not really being able to even sip... I'll stop rambling now.thank u all so much for the info -
Talk To Me About Medicines
StrangelyNormal replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh mylanta! I will talk to her and see if my meds even come in liquid form. Liquid cymbalta, baclofen and neurontin? I bet she tells me to open them up and dissolve in a liquid. I bet that tastes divine... -

Do You View Your Glass As Half Full Or Half Empty?
StrangelyNormal replied to SKCUNNINGHAM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

Mexico, Really?
StrangelyNormal replied to Duane_77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sister had her weight loss surgery in Mexico and said it was cleaner, more attentive and the best overall surgery experience she'd had and will never go anywhere else. So where am I going? Mexico If you google "gastric sleeve horror stories" or "gastric sleeve nightmares", etc. just check out where the majority (almost every one I read) had surgery...yup, the good ol' USA -
