Hello from Oklahoma ;-) My name is April, but I was born in June (I think my mom musta had a lot of painkillers when she named me) and will be 38 years old this summer. I haven't had my sleeve yet, but I have researched the heck out of where to go, which surgeon I'd like to use and have been lurking around perusing the forums. The past year has been crazy for me, I slipped on some ice and along with the concussion, I apparently have a degenerative spinal disease, severe spinal stenosis and numerous bulged/slipped/degraded discs.... Or so the MRI's say. Ugh, so.... While sure, at 270 pounds I definitely need to lose weight, I was relatively comfortable with the way I looked. I'm tall, so I carry the weight in a way that makes me very curvy, but it isn't about the way I look. This is about being able to walk without a walker. Not needing assistance getting dressed (which sometimes is the case) and not being in constant pain no matter what position I'm sitting/standing/lying in. So, experts have explained that the pressure my weight is putting on my hips/back will be significantly reduced with loss of weight, which will then lessen my pain and increase my mobility. So I'm like "oh, hell yeah, sign me up"Â
