I'm having a hard time with 1 incision above my belly button, it hurts so bad when I move!! I'm home so that's nice, but I need some stronger pain medicine! Glad your okay!! Hope you get to go home soon! Are you hungry? Im kinda hungry, but I get a protein shake in the morning, super excited about that!! It's a journey, right?? And I'm so glad We started it! Hi guys! So I'm feeling so much better than I did when my gallbladder came out in June! My husband is so excited that I'm not whiney and mean this time around! My only problem is my cut above my belly button HURTS so bad! And my doctor only prescribed me Lortab ELX in liquid and its not keeping me asleep. Other than that I've had some sf jello, broth and a Popsicle. I'm feeling a little hungry but in a few hours I can have a protein shake! Yummy! I think I may call in the am to get some stronger stuff to keep me asleep longer, cause its killing me!

So excited to be banded Tommoro! I can't wait to start a whole new way of life! It's not even that I wanna be skinny, I just don't want diabetes, and hight blood pressure and everything else that my family has!!! I want to be happy, shop at normal stores, spend $20 on a bra rather than $50!! So excited! Ill wanna know who else is being banded Tommoro ! Let me know!

Hi everyone! I'm FINALLY getting banded this Friday! After 9 months of jumping thru hoops with my insurance, they finally approved my surgery! I'm so beyond excited! I'm nervous, believe me, but EXCITED! my only concern is I have to be back to work on Wednesday! Will that be enough time?

I'm from California too! I'm getting banded in San Diego but I live closer to Palm Springs...ya my husband is super happy for me and a great support, as well as close friends and my select few of family that I told I'm excited to start losing weight and this had been such a long journey for me (8 months) so I'm ready!!! I'm a little nervous tho cause I just found out last night that I was having surgery Friday!!! So I hadn't really had time to do the liquid diet, I'm just hoping it will be ok in the OR!!

I'm getting banded Friday the 30th too!!! I'm so excited! I can't wait to get it done and start losing weight! Where do you live?

I just found out on tue (last night) that I'm getting banded so I hadn't had time to do the liquid thing! But I am doing it today and Tommoro! I'm nervous! But so excited!

I on the other hand had a HORRIBLE experience with that dr and his team! I waited 4 hrs past my appointment for a consult all while sitting in the room listening to his Nurse talk about how much she hates the lapband and it does nothing for anybody, all the while she knew I was there for a lapband! She was a bypass patient years ago and pushed bypass on any patient that came in., Then the dr coon offered me and my husband dinner because I had to reschedule!!, my appt was at 4pm, it was then 8pm, because he knows he saw people before me who didn't have appointments. I'm never going back there again. I didn't even talk to the dr but I don't want him operating on my body!!!!!

Today I went for my check up after gallbladder surgery and my scale at home says I lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks (not banded) but frs office scale said I only lost 4!!! I was so upset! I've been doing so well with my diet and nasty protein shakes and exercising. I'm so depressed now!! So the big thing is he told me it will be a few months, 2 or 3, untill I can be banded cause I need to drop 30 lbs. my BMI is too high. Sad and upset and need some encouragement! And I'm seriously considering going to a medical weight loss clinic and getting appetite suppressant pills, water pills, and b12 shots to help me drop the wright fast..... Help

I'm not banded yet but during my pre-op ultrasound they found gallstones and just decided to take my gallbladder out before being banded.

I'm 5'1 with a BMI of 52 at starting weight 262 ( currently 253) I hope to drop 140 lbs after being banded. My doc said my BMI is way high, and I have sleep apnea!

I got a Japanese character on my hip when I was 18, I havnt seen it in 5 years!! I'm excited to lose my tummy tire and see it again...wonder if it changed? Lol

Welcome. I'm not banded yet but doing everything (hopefully) thru my insurence and waiting for a date. You can learn a lot from here, just start reading the different threads and start your own with questions. Be prepared to Go through tests!

My doc said I'm allowed to stay on BC, nuvaring, but to be extremely careful cause pregnancy is at a all time high after lapband surgery! If you have time, maybe switch to nuvaring and you can just keep it in and skip a period

I'm doing 30 days protein shakes only and I've dropped 7 lbs in 6 days...it's been so tough for me! But nice, I don't have to think about what I will eat next lol I feel your pain, oh and did I mention I don't even have a surgery date yet??! This is just because doc said!!

Alright. Im 5'2. Started at 262 with a BMI of 52. im 23 yrs old and I have not been banded yet. Started the journey in beginning of may. waiting for insurence approval Been off work for a week from gallbladder surgery. When i was waking up in recovery my doc was talking with my husband on how upset he was that I hadn't lost weight since day 1. It made me feel awful!! I started walking the day after even though it was painful. I'm on day 6 after surgery and I just walked 3 miles! I'm sore on my tummy because around one incision there's a knarly yellow bruise and it's right where my roll is so its always under pressure. Ouch! But I'm down 9 lbs since Saturday and drinking 2 Protein shakes a day and one healthy meal. I've been trying something new, hoping it helps.... Every mirror I walk past in my house, I stop. Look. And really just take in how BIG I am! It hurts me to see how big I've gotten, and I hate doing it, but now everything I want to cheat on my diet I stop and see that image of me. It helps!! Also, I changed my phones background to a HORRIBLE fat picture of me, and I ALWAYS have my phone on me, so I see that picture and it just motivates me like no other!! Now the scale thing, i have a question about that...how often should I weigh myself!? I don't want to be the person that weighs them-self every morning and gets upset if they gained and ounce! Or do I? Anyways, need some encouragement here..waiting for insurence approval is killing me! But can't wait to show doc next week during check up I've lost weight!! Thanks from California

Congrats! 8 lbs in 4 days is great! I tried those EAS ones, I coudnt drink a whole one! I'm doing the Atkins advantage. Those I can bear. But I also mix it up and have a blended slim fast that I make out of the powder. I'm going today to GNC because they have a shake that has 25 Protein and @ 5/6 carbs...I'm on this diet untill doc says no more, since I don't have a surgery date. But you doc will be so happy your liver is shrinking from this special diet, it willard surgery faster! Congrats again!
