I got banded May of 2012. I've lost about 30 lbs, which has been a little frustrating as I thought I would have list more at this point. I'm not sure if I should get another fill or not because I feel like I'm throwing up a lot as it is. However, there are times I feel like I'm able to eat more than I should (quantity wise). I almost feel like if I can chew things up small enough to get past the band that I'm still able to eat a large quantity of food. I guess I thought the Lapband was supposed to create a smaller stomach (in a way) do that I wouldn't eat as much not just teach me to chew really well. Having said that, I haven't had a fill since August because I've been losing about 3 lbs per month and feel like I throw up quite a bit. Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.

I have Plantar Fasciitis in my right foot and its painful all the time. I have custom orthotics in my shoes and wear orthotic sandals all the time, even around the house. I am a server/bartender so it flares up after/during each shift. I have night splints and arch support things that I've tried but they don't seem to help either. Plus my doctor says even walking will continue to irritate it so I guess they only exercise I can do is the elliptical. Anyone found anything that will help it go away?

How are you feeling? I had my 2nd fill a week ago and while I feel food getting stuck easier I don't feel that I'm getting full any quicker. I feel like I can eat the same amount, just have to eat it slower. You?

Had my 2nd fill today and I finally feel like I have some restriction. Hopefully I'll get this weight loss ball rolling! My surgery date was May 18. I've lost about 25 llbs since my heaviest weight last fall.

Finally, A Little Restriction!
Sara75 replied to Sara75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I have 6cc in a 10cc band. -
I had my first fill yesterday, 4 cc's. I kind of feel a difference cuz I'm burping a lot more but no restriction really. I can't wait to get out of bandster hell!!!

Has anyone had insurance cover a tummy tuck or breast reduction/lift? If so, what are the requirements and what insurance do you have?

Hiatal Hernia... Anyone Have Theirs Surgically Repaired?
Sara75 replied to adorkbl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had one repaired during lapband placement too but I had no symptoms. I noticed no difference after surgery. It's funny how some of us had one but never knew. -
Thanks to everyone for your input. I think I've met my out of pocket max so no out of pocket for me. TX-Techman- that's insane and it angers me. I think it's great that you've filed a complaint and I hope they get busted. I don't know how they sleep at night either.

I had my surgery last week but haven't gotten a fill yet. I see so many of you going in and getting multiple fills or having some taken out. Does it cost everytime? I have BCBS Anthem and haven't checked if I get any free fills or if I have to pay from fill #1.

I was reading in another forum about MSM (supplement) and how the claim is that it helps with hair, nails, and skin. Specifically that it helps tighten skin. Has anyone tried it?
-
When did yours come off? I have one or two that are sort of hanging from the incision site. Should I just yank them off?
-
Hi there. How long did the doc have you take off work and what are the lifting restrictions and for how long? I have my surgery scheduled for May 8 and I don't know how long to tell my managers that I need off. I'm a waitress.

Yeah, we have our first garden this year. I have no idea if anything will actually grow, especially after the hail storm we had last night.

It took me about 4-5 days after surgery to sleep on my side. I tried it one day thinking it would hurt but it was fine.

3 Weeks Post Op, Horrible Constipation
Sara75 replied to daisychains7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Daisy- I'm so sorry! What a horrible thing to have to go through! I sure hope you feel better soon. Until then, rest up. Take care! -
I pulled a muscle about a week after surgery and it was right in the area of the port. It was very sore for a few days them it healed. Oh, and it happened from me twisting. See if you feel better in a few days, if not call the doc.

A Little Discouraged....
Sara75 replied to Pinkskyy84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
An acquaintance of mine had the sleeve in January and has had to go back because of infections. It just seemed too extreme for me. Everyone is different though. -
I'm in the same boat. My first fill isn't until late June. I don't understand why it takes so many fills to get restriction. If I'm paying per fill ($300 at my clinic...not sure what my cost is as I have insurance) I'd tell them they better give me restriction because I'm not paying $300 for them to give me 1cc each time. Imagine how pricey that would be!!

Almost 50Lbs Down So Happy
Sara75 replied to SabrinaS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are looking good!!!! Congrats! -
My doc didn't say anything about cutting them down but that's a great idea so I can start getting that sticky stuff off my skin.

Thanks.

How long did it take for your steristrips to come off?

Not be a fat mom. fit in the airplane seat comfortably. Not hit stuff with my booty because I forget how big it is. Weigh less than my hubby. More energy. Ride roller coasters again. Run again. Shop at normal stores again. Not have to hang all my shirts dry for fear of them shrinking. Play volleyball again. Not be the fattest woman in my neighborhood. Not avoid the camera like a plague. Get a family picture taken. Not weigh more than my brothers and dad. Like myself again.
