To Stay Or Not To Stay.....
Grandma3 replied to OldMomOf3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor gives a choice also, I did not stay. For me, I was much more comfortable at home but I have a husband who will wait on me hand and foot if I needed him to which I did not. I only have one very symapthetic 6 yr old grandchild who lives with me. With three kids and an unnurturing husband I would probably spend the night. You just have to decide where you would feel more comfortable. -

Upset About Sleep Apnea!!
Grandma3 replied to smellslikecoffee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also had a family member die from sleep apnea while they were waiting for their machine. I would never go a night without mine, it is not worth the chance of not waking up. Although I do sleep much better since I have had it, I can not wait until the day I do not have to use it any longer. -

100 Pounds...gone!! :d
Grandma3 replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Awesome job Mis73, keep up the great work. -
Premier Protein shakes are great, I have only had the chocolate and they taste like chocolate milk. You will see them advertised on this site and as far as I know they only sell them at Cosco or Sams. My doctor sells powder to make shakes in her office so I have never had to look for good powder.

Mine was two weeks, no bathtub, pool or hottub.
-
Great job, keep up the good work and you will loose the rest.

It is not un-normal. It is from straining when you go. Preperatin H cream helps. I got some fiber powder that has no taste and put a couple scoops in my protin skake in the morning.

Just Wanna Kick Myself In The Arse!!
Grandma3 replied to angelblessed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to get tough and tell your family you will not permit them to bring that junk in your house. If they want to eat it then eat it at the restaurant, DO NOT bring it home. Next time someone offers you a burger or a candy bar, take it from them go straight to the garbage disposale and grind it up, then get a Protein shake and enjoy. Your family is being very rude and you need to set them straight. Then you need to go back to the beginning and start over. We have all been there, we were all starving on liquids, but it doesn't last forever. You need to get your head straight and get back in the game. I wish you the best of luck but you HAVE to get in the game. -
Congrats Anume, I am also 5 weeks out today and you are a few pounds ahead of me.

How Does Your Partner Handle The Surgery And Weightloss???
Grandma3 replied to Dacoop's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you go to lapband.com and click on "How it Works" there is a little video that explains the band. My son didn't really understand the band so I had him watch that. Maybe you could get your husband to watch that. -
No minorities here ....... everyone is is reaching for the same goal. To weigh less, be happier and healthier. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

That pure will power is a tough thing. Hope this fill works out for you. I get my first fill one week from today, excited and scared. PS. I only see one post.

How Does Your Partner Handle The Surgery And Weightloss???
Grandma3 replied to Dacoop's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My husband is a real trooper. He went to the seminars with me and has backed me all they way. He has even tried to diet and has lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks with out a band. I am very lucky to have this wonderful person in my life. -
There should be someone on call at your doctors office, did you try to call? Sounds like your incision is infected to me.
-
I love this post. I got the band because: I am rasing my 6 yr old grandson that I want to see graduate high school and maybe even college. To sleep with out my CPAP mask. To shop for clothes at the mall. To have my husbands arms fit around me. To not avoid looking in the mirror. To have my knees and back not hurt. To fit in a airplane seat without a belt extension. And so many more, but mostly for myself and my grandson.

I got a "GE 17 piece single serve rocket blender" at Wal-Mart for $20 and I love it. I comes with two different blades and lots of extra cups. Throw in some crushed ice and it makes your protein shakes taste so much better. It also shreds meat up for the mushie/soft stage.

I have 4 small holes and one large.

Great job. I read these stories and hope one day I can say the same. 60 lbs of potatoes is alot of weight, hard to believe we carry that and more around everyday. Good luck on your continued success.
