Gaining Weight On My Preop Diet!!?? Help
Grandma3 replied to banditalovely's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre-op diet was a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. A meal for dinner with 4 ounces of chicken or fish and a vegetable. Doctors orders! -
NWgirl, that is what I take also.

One Year With Band Today~
Grandma3 replied to WinningLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy Bandiversary to you, you have done great! -
I could have fat free refried beans when I started mushies, two weeks after surgery. Good with a spoon of sour cream on top.

Good article, I wonder if bottle lemon juice would work?

I sure hope it is not discontinued, to me that means something is wrong with it. I have only had mine seven weeks and one of the posts said she had hers 3 weeks. I googled it and there was a recall back in 2010 for ones not yet used because of a bad port tubing connetor. There is nothing since that time.

I am so happy to hear that everyone is happy with the Realize band.

My primary doctor is the one who gave me the card to the bariatric surgeon and said why don't you check this out. I think he is more excited then me when the scale goes down, my PCP is the best!

I had to do pre op diet two weeks before. But ours was Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch. Diner was a meal of meat, chicken or fish and veggie. Two weeks after was liquids. I could have many things like fat free popsicles, Soup (liquid only), fat free Jello, Protein shakes, applesauce. Pretty much anything that was in a liquid form. BUT by the time I got to mushies, I was so ready. The protein shakes really fill you up, but YES there are times you get very hungry. That does not stop after the liquid diet, you will still be hungry after that. You have to dig deep and find the strength to get you through.

So How Honest Were You....
Grandma3 replied to Riker990's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh course my husband knows, and I told my sister, my son/daughter-in-law and my friend. I told all of them this is my story to tell so I would appreciate them keeping it to themselves. As far as I know they have not told. The people at work just think I am on a diet. For me, I made the right choice, I have no one preaching, judging or asking me about my weight. -
Kinda Sick To My Stomach/concerned
Grandma3 replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't take the shot on an empty stomach. Take it after you have eaten and that should help. -
This Might Be A Stupid Question...
Grandma3 replied to Lacey8724's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor does not put anything in the band until 6 weeks post-op. All doctors have their own way of doing things. -
Sounds like everyone is doing great with the Realize band. Glad to know. I was begining to think I was the only one.

Lots of popsicles, fat free/sugar free of course! Also, get up and move, move, move, you will recover faster. -
Hey Jerseygirl, I am doing well with mine too, I was banded 4/25/12. I have 5.2 cc's and I have to take it slower in the mornings but no other problems. I did have one stuck episode but it was my own fault. Glad to hear your doing well and thanks for the reply.

I drink one every morning, on my drive to work. I then have a small snack, fruit or something at 9:30-10:00. Which gets me to lunch. SO basically the shake is my Breakfast. I only have one on the weekend if I need extra Protein.

I was having headaches too, I finally figured out it was the caffeine (or lack of). You are not suppose to stop caffeine, you have to ween off slowly. I miss my Dt Dr Pepper.

Thanks A Lot Complications Thread =\
Grandma3 replied to BreBre's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I mentioned all this to my PCP and he said, "you have to remember that when people feel bad or somthing is wrong they want to tell everyone. When people are feeling good, they go about their business and do not post. So think of it as 100 good to 5 bad, you just don't see them." -
I am raising my 6 yr old grandson. He needed to learn how to ride his bike without training wheels. I was in no shape to run down the street beside him, so at 6 he still had training wheels. When I had to get someone else to help him learn it hit me that if I want to be there for him I need to do something. I am now on the way to a smaller me so I can be here to see him graduate high school and maybe college.
